Like stated earlier by another RLer; values are up across the board on collectibles. Automotive along w many other non automotive categories. No need to judge how few miles a owner puts on their car as plenty on this board own more then 1 P Car/enthusiast car /daily driver etc. I have to say I have a 993 S and prefer canyon carving in my 964 C2 way more then my 993S. Again all up to preferences. Consequently, I put way more on my 964 then my 993 but most recently my 07 BMW Z4 M Coupe takes the prize! I gotta love the big ticket item on CL vs another site/forum/auction! Yrs ago I listed a 94 964 Speedster on this site. I priced based on what I was willing to part ways with it. A few of you knuckleheads on this board proceeded to pepper me w idiotic opinions etc. The car sold to an enthusiast, sight unseen at full ask. I retained my friendship with that new owner and a few years later I saw it listed on Craigslist for way more then I sold it for. So the story goes...Cheers boys as the holidays are here and not a time for ranting!

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a set of 993 hardback seats?
Found this guy, but no website, just the Instagram profile.
He's the guy! I haven't bought a set yet. But many have. Just apparently takes 3-5 months.
From what I've seen in person, the leather doesn't seem similar to OE. Looked kind of shinier and harder. I didn't have a chance to open the car door and sit and feel.
That's waldemar. I bought a set of his repro seats a few years ago. Made with mostly oem parts but now he has a guy to cut new foams. I like the seats a lot however the leather isn't quite identical as others have pointed out, at least with my cashmere examples. Pretty close though and the seats have held up pretty well.
^^^^ Those Waldemar seats are the best upgrade (or replacement) you are going to find on the global market, other than the very rare and scarce OEM Porsche hardback sport seats. Waldemar's are also a very cost effective option. Long gone are the days where a good pair of OEM Porsche Hardbacks can be found for $7-$10K. I wouldn't sell mine for $20K. Saving them for if/when I get back into a 993 itch. @L39E can comment on their quality and so can others here that have them in use. From what I hear, and for the price, it is a good product.
I have a set of Waldemar 993 turbo seats I purchased last summer. I was curious and so mostly took them apart and can share the following:
- All parts are OE/Recaro/Porsche with the exception of the hardback shells, the leather and maybe the foam.
- The hardback shells are carbon fiber and are held on by the same OE 2-plastic clips at the bottom and 2-bolts at top. No safety concerns at all.
- The frames are Porsche/Recaro. All hardware bits and covers are OE. All foam is new and looked like it could have been ordered from Porsche using the PET.
- The leather pattern is perfect and an exact match to the originals. The leather is slightly thinner than OE, but I don’t have the exact measurements with me. IIRC it was 1 millimeter difference.
- The base of the seat in the PET is the exact same part number as the base of the sport seats. Somewhere I saw a post that indicated Waldemar is using the base from a non-sport seat. My conclusion is “so what”, “it is the exact same part”.
Thanks @Blue TTop that is very helpful information. I have yet to receive mine, but they are almost done. He sent me some photos “99% complete” a couple are below. I posted the rest in the Waldemar thread if anyone wants to see. I will update that thread with more photos if Waldemar sends more and also when I receive the seats.. these are riviera blue over cashmere with crests and heat
I saw this. Should do very well. I bought my 996 TTS on Christmas Eve as a gift to myself. Whoever buys this one should have it in their garage by Christmas Day.
