  • X57 Door Panel Trim in Carbon
  • X71 Aluminum Instrument Dials
  • Y05 Brake Shifter Carbon/Aluminum
  • It could have also had carbon packages Y04 (which included X56, X57)
None of these are noted on either the option tag nor the dealer/factory printout. Doesn't mean they aren't cool bits, but it should not be confused with a car that came with them from the factory.
I have these codes as well and it says "Exclusive" on the glovebox carbon so was wondering the same thing. What are these codes from that ad?
  • 00011 – Exclusive option
  • 09991 – Exclusive option

just stopped by Tarek’s and saw this one live , I’ve never seen a sunroof delete 993 before and this one in speed yellow looks like an exotic car I’m not surprised it sold so fast.

I own a 1995 993 cab. I know cabs are not popular here , but if you are not planning to track the car
get a NB 1993 , even a cab, yes it has 10hp less , but they go for 50k. ( early 95 have the OBD1 , less headache )
I think the ones who are paying 150,000$ and over for the WB S will not even drive them )
don't say you missed out, get the NB , you will be very happy and you can save 100k
good luck

not a bad idea, but NB coupes are beginning to generate some bigger numbers now also. if you want to get in one, grab a NB with something in the higher mileage range.

it's hard to speculate (impossible, really), but i'm not sure i'd count on these prices making any significant correction moving forward and getting another opportunity. strange times...

  • 00011 – Exclusive option
  • 09991 – Exclusive option
  • 00011-references when a car is Paint to Sample
  • 09991- Just means it has at least one exclusive option, In this cars case it would be XN7 which is a leather parking brake lever. One has to remember on the 993 era there were just 20 unique "numbered" options (the typical things like motor sound, power seats, sport chassis, 18" wheels, etc). The rest are "exclusive" X or Z option codes.
Sadly there are some urban legends where people think their car is "exclusive" simply because it has some silly $67 option... it isn't. If people are really interested they can take the time to learn the various codes, ~ 5 years ago I posted the official Porsche internal ordering guide which contained all this info. The Slate Grey car had most of those options likely added by the delivering dealer or early on in the cars life and some of the parts are likely genuine Porsche parts, just not installed at production.

Well maintained 1998 993 Carrera 2 S. This has always been a California car and I am the second owner. I have had the car for 7 years and has put 33k miles on the car myself. Car runs very well with no oil leaks. Need to make room for another car and I have to let this "classic" go. Would love to see this car go to another 993 enthusiast.

Odometer reading: 104,100 miles (1st owner had the odometer replaced 5 months after initial purchase, so actual mileage is slightly higher than this)
Color: Arctic Silver / Black

Factory Options:
18" Hollow spoke wheels
Motorsound Airbox
Carbon-Aluminum parking brake lever
White gauge faces

Upgrades/modifications:
Lightweight Flywheel (installed at 79k miles)
Bilstein PSS-10's
M030 anti-roll bars
Walrod Front control arm bushings
ERP Rear toe links
OEM Porsche Turbo S front bumper scoops
Front Bumperette delete and front bumper respray (done in 2011)
Rear bumperettes painted body color
Clear Euro corner lights
Aftermarket HID headlights
PerfectPower Front strut tower brace
Brake Calipers powder-coated red
RS Shifter/FD Motorsports Golden Rod
996 3-spoke leather steering wheel
996 Carbon-Aluminum shift ****
Rennline Aluminum floor board
Carnewal Aluminum pedals
Fister Stage 2 exhaust with big ovals (ceramic-coated black)

Maintenance:
Engine Top End rebuild done at 79k miles
Clutch replaced at 79k miles
Major service performed June 2013
New Bridgestone S-04 tires
Brake calipers rebuilt and refinished June 2013
Wonder what it is worth today?

A NB 933 is better than no 993 at all.

It’s hard to understand how willing they are to tarnish an exotic car dealership’s image and credibility over 1 car. I emailed the seller weeks ago on eBay and told him to disclose. He said he would but he clearly hasn’t.

People with morals always have a hard time believing how deceitful and conniving crooked people can be. They will lie to your face and do exactly the opposite of what they say. They know that people have a short attention span and they can throw in random bad apple here and there and likely get away with it. Especially in a hot market with limited inventory.

Every dealer associated with this sale should be flagged.

isn't this what we all supposed to picture when someone says 'used car salesman'?

it still needs to be moved and it's highly unlikely that a dealer is going to take the hit of a car that's not quite on the up and up.

This dealer is very close to me and I will try to stop in and talk to them. I hold the guy who runs GG in high esteem and I hate to see his reputation tarnished by this car.

Not sure if I'll get anywhere but will try.

I have heard bits and pieces about this car but don't have the definitive skinny on it so any info is helpful.

the dealer has been contacted and called out multiple times, now you need to go stop in and beg him to not ruin his own reputation? Lol, he’s obviously a trashy dealer. Not only did they not disclose the damage, and now that they know 100% they are still not disclosing and not even discounting their car.
