When GMA T-50 can have a manual transmission with a 48V starter generator, Porsche can have too. I sure hope so.

Theres different and then there’s differing.

The stage 1 tune now on the turbocharged 3.0 engine is near the stock Turbo S offering. It’s immense.

No. My car is a bucket list car and was specced as a keeper. I’m thinking of buying a 308 GTS QV currently but no interest in buying another Porsche. I’ve always wanted a Targa and now it’s had the stage 1 tune I’m more than happy with it.

They all have flat 6s so they must all be the same car 🤡

I was looking at the Panamera apart from he base engine, everything else including the turbo is a e-hybrid! my hunch is something similar for the 911 too.

On Porsche finder Canada I noticed that they have added 992.1 generation now. Used to only show 992. They are getting ready for 992.2. here is before and after snapshots.

Likewise for the U.S. market.

What typically happens upon the release of the 992.2? Let's say Base and GTS get announced for MY25, does Porsche continue to issue allocations for T/S models or do the non-announced models get frozen?

Allegedly someone here on RL recently acquired a 992.1 Targa GTS allocation with August production, October delivery so who knows what is going on. 5.5 days to go… hopefully we have more answers then, but I am fully expecting not all of them to be answered.

I'm assuming the production line has to keep running with employees kept working. This seems unlikely if they might only churn out two trims for MY25.

There are three lineups:
Carrera-series
Turbo-series
GT-series

…and all the “special models”

I want to say that it's happened more than once before where Porsche continues to churn out the .1 version on some trims while also building the .2 version on others at the same time. It's also not uncommon for Porsche to put a hiatus on a trim level at the beginning and the end of major model revisions. Despite what any dealer representative says, no one outside of Porsche corporate knows for certain what trims of the .2 will be released and when.

But who is going to pay MSRP for a 2024 S (for example), when the 2025 Base is being sold alongside it, which will be a year newer and have a closer performance differential to the S than before? Tough sell.

One reason may be the fact that it is available with a 7spd manual but otherwise, point well taken.
