You really don't know why source is important to interpreting and assessing reported information?

In this forum, perhaps.

But not in real life.

I think you don't understand that this is an internet forum where people can say anything they want and you have to take it with 'a lot of salt'. If you want sources you need to wait for official announcements. What will make you believe him anyway?

Anyone anticipate a mad dash for the last remaining 992.1 allocations once these hybrid 911’s are official?

Probably amongst motor heads. I believe the THEV high performance hybrid will be a hot seller because it brings big advantages to the table. The compliance mild hybrid systems that will be fitted to the rest of the cars will likely be less desirable because they will just add weight with no benefits...similar to the systems BMW and Mercedes are installing across their lineups.

Very true - unless all the predictions are wrong, that mild hybrid system in the base trims is likely to be a "what's this for" option. Buyers who aren't "in the know" will take it because they don't know any better and that's the only way the cars come. In the know buyers might as well take a chance as early adopters on the full hybrid trims. I really think the 992.2 is going to be a shorter lived model revision for this reason alone. They might as well move early to the 994 at this point, hybridize the entire lineup, and maybe try to engineer some weight out of the 994 to make up for the electrification components.

The Porsche Factory Tours page says tours will be unavailable from July 22 until September 1.
Perhaps they are re-tooling the factory for the 992.2 during that time?

Im concerned about "hybrid option" The new panamera has a base pana 4 with an anemic 380hp- an e hybrid same base engine with 100hp boost from electric motor WHICH is a plug in and gets little with regen or ICE charging - Unless fully wall charged its the same anemic 380hp with an few hundred pounds of motor and battery. The 4s hybrid gets, i think a 150 hp boost, but requires plug in as well.

Im hoping the 911 s wont require an electric tether nightly

No plug ins, the base trims have a mild hybrid. I don't think the real hybrid will be a PHEV either because the weight increase would be very large with that.

It's a great place to live, especially as an American. You get the best of both worlds. Don't listen to haters.

I've heard from a sales rep at Porsche that 992.2 base and GTS will be PDK and mild hybrid only.

No info on S or Turbo or GT3 yet.
