If price is not a consideration do you choose the:
1) 400bhp ice only base
or
2) 540bhp mild hybrid GTS
I will take NA + hybrid over Turbo only.

The 3.6L in the GTS will not be NA.

Agreed…

I think this pipe dream that a naturally aspirated is going to return to a non-GT 911 is exactly that, a pipe dream. I will gladly eat crow if proven wrong. We shall soon see.

Hearing from my Dealer there will be a 5/28 992.2 announcement. Grain of salt; but still.

Seems logical.

The questions for me are:

1) What hybrid turbo tech does the 2024 gts get? Is is the expected T-HEV or something else? 540bhp is a tremendous power increase in porsche land between generations

2) It seems the “game changing” T-HEV is launching with the carrera s in 2025. So again as in 1) what do we get in the 540bhp GTS in 2024?

3) If the GTS does not get the T-HEV at launch will it get it in 2025 with the carrera s launch? If yes then it might not be a good buy?

4) It seems the Turbo (non S) would be fully ICE and is a 2025 release and seems like a very interesting buy as it will be the last of the last - not thinking about depreciation but simply buying the last of an era.

These are the questions and thoughts for final decisions for me and we will have the answers very soon.
Aren’t the Carrera GTS models usually 2 years behind the release of the base, S, and Turbos? So 2025 GTS models will still be 992.1 right?

It seems with the 992.2 things are different:

Base and GTS - May Launch, July Production

S and GT3 - Early 2025

No idea about the Turbo models

Wouldn’t be surprised if they use the 718GTS/GT4 4.0 motor with hybrid for the GTS. I mean they did go from 2.5L turbo motor to 4.0 NA for the 718 GTS.

As of now of course - and this is not speculation.

He's stated what his source is (or what it isn't) earlier if I recall correctly. I'm not sure why it matters though. What could he say that would make you believe or not?

That's not happening...if you want NA, you have to get a GT3.

Ah man this really throws a wrench in my plans for a 992.1 911 if true.

Anyone anticipate a mad dash for the last remaining 992.1 allocations once these hybrid 911’s are official?

It's kind of already happening in this forum.
