one of the weirder things i have ever read on any forum - might not be a person in the world that sees a 911 and thinks what you posted
@OncPorsche only Jeremy Clarkson...

But then again, he is the OG Shaved Ape...

Thanks for that link, and I have to agree with Al.Fresco on that thread,

That story is lame. The racing story is far more sexy. Sexy always beats lame.”

Same old Porsche.

It's still the reason to this day that the 992 911 still does not have double wishbones in the front.

Maybe for the Miata saving money isn't top of mind? But to be fair both nations suffered shortages post war, but only one brand continues the heritage and staying true to the roots

A little bit more intel from a brand ambassador I've talked to for a while, to be taken with a grain of salt as usual:

"Regarding the new one, Porsche will be revealing the first two variants of the .2, it will be the base and the GTS, the big part of the reveal will be a non-plug in hybrid version of the GTS. There is very little info on the Turbos, we know they will be dropping the Turbo and only offer the Turbo S and may be a hybrid variant of that. I have not heard anything about a manual rwd Turbo. They did that in this last run of 911s with the Sport Classic, that was the RWD manual version. There is a very big secret that is not fully confirmed but I will say I do believe it will be coming, they designed a 3.4L naturally aspirated one that is coming that will be a new trim level."

Totaling speculating but this “secret” car could fill the gap between the 400bhp base and 510bhp.

Based on the eturbos and the manual non s turbo and now this low possibility NA car this could be one of the most technology interesting launch of new 911s in the last years.

The last 3.4L was the 996 with 296BHP
They would have to add hybrid or something to make this anything close to todays 992's

ya, it would sell like hotcakes. Well.. maybe not a 3.4, but a 4.0L NA over 400hp in a 911 that wasn’t ridiculously priced would. It’s crazy you get get a Cayman with a 4.0L for near 100K, but in a 911 you have to spend ridiculous amounts of money, ADMs and “know someone” to even have the opportunity to buy the cars offered. Realistically, the 4.0L cars offered aren’t really good fits for “real driving” either. The GT3 and RS are track cars, S/T even has compromises with single mass flywheel, loud interior, rarity (makes most hesitant to put excessive miles on it), roll cage, etc., all which keep it from being a good daily usable 911. What’s so hard about making more 4.0L NA engines? This is exactly what the 911 T should be.

The 3.4 was in the 991.1 at 345bhp, and in the Cayman S at ~325bhp. But I agree, I think any NA motor offered needs to be over 400HP to be interesting.

"A new trim level" that's going to be hard as hell to score an allocation for with some marvelously high ADM.
