I wouldn’t go as far as “abandoning” my dot one. I’d feel bad for a while, nit pick some things on the dot two, and forget about it when I’m behind the wheel of my dot one Gee Tee Ess.

Progress is inevitable, and with cars, so is technology and pace. I appreciate that, debate it, and then enjoy my current cars until I’m good and ready for something else - and, if I like my current car, history has shown that I stick with them for a while. And feel good that some companies are making cars I desire, so I can pick them up in the future.

I am aware, but until the 28th this thread is nothing more than a guessing game for us all. So, we will just keep kicking ideas down the road until then.

Well, you’re not staying current on the latest speculation, gossip and untrustworthy internet rumor. Ha ha. There are three speculative theories with numerous sub-theories. The three main hybrid speculative theories floating around are: 1.) mild hybrid with electric motor in PDK (which you mention) designed to improve mpg and emissions, 2.) eTurbo to eliminate lag, maybe allow redesign of turbo system and maybe solve some intercooler issues, and 3.) the Big Mac Daddy performance hybrid system with an electric motor on the front axle. I assume Bergmeister’s comments are about the last one. Some models may get #1 while other models get #2 and/or #3 or some combination. Some models may get nothing. Sub-theories for speculation involve Le Mans key, wishbone suspension and a RWD TT with MT…….All speculation. The 992.2 rollout has more storylines than the Kennedy assassination. Again, we will hopefully know for sure on Tuesday.

Or at the minimum a clearer picture pertaining to the intro .2 models and left totally in the dark as to what is to come for the remaining models so we all can continue to speculate which will ultimately keep this thread alive. 🤣

Maybe #1 or #2, but I doubt it is #3 since they said it is no more than 25KG.

I think we kinda know for sure that the new GTS is going to be a fair bit quicker than the current one, based on Ring times. It will be interesting to see how Porsche raises the performance of the dot two GT3 to stay ahead by a margin, and not simply rely on the structural differences (NA motor, double wishbones, aero, body kit).

I’m confident I’ll be skipping over the 992.2 and keeping my .1 long term. Lost of the analog tachometer, lemans ignition key, and introducing of a hybrid engine would nearly guarantee this to be a future classic.

The only thing that will push me to a .2 would be a 6-speed manual transmission in a Turbo model a la GT2RS.

We know that car, if built, will be unobtanium. And, with ADMs out the wazoo, likely a cool half mil.

They said the same about the GT3 Touring.

And its uh, incredibly hard to get, or 275-320k depending on spec or miles so that was pretty accurate save a little numbers hyperbole lol.

Plenty of GT3s under $300K, several under $250K. Big difference between that and half a million.

You mentioned a manual, GT2 RS. That’s not a GT3, and likely a lot more desirable than a dot one GT3, and with a much higher MSRP to begin with. I did have some numbers hyberbole there, but not a lot.

I mentioned a manual turbo, a la GT2RS.
Same as the GT3 Touring, a la 911R.
