If someone cannot, or will not cite their sources, they are not to be trusted.

That sucks for anyone who recently passed over a .1 allocation to wait on news of the .2.

internal combustion: making a better car since the 1830’s ish. No reason to stop now. The only benefit is less pollution, and sustainable fuels/gpf’s are able to take care of that gap.

Actually, the electric motor is older than the internal combustion engine.

I'm always for newer tech. That's why I'm sticking with ICE. LOL.

Oh, and Porsche's first car was electric.

What is the regen method for this .2 going to be? It can't be regen brakes because they are heavy and will introduce a strange feel which people don't want in a sports car. Are they going to spin a regen off the turbo impeller?

Whilst a very different car, my X3 m40i has a 48V hybrid system. The only upside is very smooth start stop operation.
The little motor helps in acceleration, but I'm not sure how much I feel it. The battery is supposed to charge with regen, but there is no strange feel when engine braking/car slowing down on its own. I haven't been able to tell the difference in the slightest if the regen is active or not. The 48V battery, however, hasn't gone past 3/4 full in 2 years probably (mostly 1/2 or below) regardless of type of driving or length of trip.

The 918 seems to do fine on the regen and "feel" front.

I kind of feel like the elves at Stuttgart know what they are doing if they are going to implement a MHEV system in the 911.

Talked to a GM who said this is in fact the case. The 992.1 GTS manual will likely retain more value long term. Sticking with my manual allocation for the 992.1. Zero interest in a hybrid pdk.
