for me it doesn’t need to look like a manual. Just a selector that I can up shift and downshift and doesn’t depend exclusively on the paddles.
If you believe head of GT division Andreas Preuninger, this is exactly the reason why the 982/992 GT cars retained the center console forward gear selector feature on PDK cars. While Porsche corporate wants to force customers to utilize the paddles. Andreas stated that he sometimes preferred to use the lever and knows that some customers do as well.

I for one enjoy shifting with the lever vs. paddles on my RS. I only use paddles on the track and prefer shifting "manually" with the lever. I'm really hoping this option becomes available on a non GT PDK car.
My Dakar was pretty boring with the little subbie thing in place of the GT shifter

Good info about GT3 and Turbo S bhp. Since s and gts are confirmed to those bhp the others should be correct. Nothing has changed from that doc last year it seems.

The most important to this launch are the hybrids of course for the main models (except the base) and for the purists the turbo (non s).

Interesting series launch and models. Surely different and not boring.
Any word on a Dakar like package being offered on 4S or GTS 4?

This appears to be the consensus. It’s one of the things I liked the most on my M3. I only used the paddles sporadically.

Pretty simple reason imo, and also why BMW has the same shifter design as 992 gt3 - try drifting / sliding and switching between 1-2-3 gears with paddle shifters on steering wheel instead of using the regular lever. Impossible

Probably from the copied misinformation on carscoops or from here - see photo and link below.

What they do not know is that it is not really a rumour, it is a normal production car -not a heritage or numbered car, not a hybrid and manual. Actual the 2 unknowns now are bhp and if pdk will be optional .

I think this is a great sales, marketing, call it whatever move - they will sell huge amounts of this model.

FWIW, I'm already on the list for one... I am curious the manual used for this - if it's the current 7 speed, then the torque will be limited like the Sport Classic. It would be amazing with a beefed up 6-speed like the 997 GT2RS but with emissions standards I am thinking 7 speed may be a requirement.

Thanks, seems like a logical next step from the manual T. I will decide if the GT3 Touring or the new Turbo is the move when more info drops.

Yes very wise. I will also probably delay the GTS I have reserved - I think it will be delayed anyway - since it is wiser to get more info on what is coming. Quite many interesting cars to be honest.

In other words it’s a Carrera 2 GTS 7MT, operating at its full potential, not detuned to sit in a hierarchical range, with wide body styling and a turbo badge. An extra $80,000 please sir.

Same here. #1 at my dealer. Getting a MY24 TTS as a bridge car. Excited for a manual Turbo 🔥

Huge chance its completetly false though, as new engines will be called T-Turbo and Carrera T will be available with manual. Add one to another, and someone somwhere heard that Turbo model will available with manual.

would make a lot of people with sport classics angry tho
