992.2 Info
is not a pretend stock shift look, it’s a PDK shifter that allows your to shift with the gear selector. I’d absolutely pay for it.
for me it doesn’t need to look like a manual. Just a selector that I can up shift and downshift and doesn’t depend exclusively on the paddles.

Probably I will trust Ferrari before Porsche for the amount of money spent (comparable price within 20%). Porsche 996, 997 models have had major engine issues. Porsche as far as I know never addressed these and never issued a recall. Buyers were stuck with fixing all of the issues themselves after warranty period. Even during warranty period I remember a lot of the 996 owners were being denied claims. There might have been some arbitration processes etc. It has been long time.
Don't get me wrong, I still like the car it's become. However if you think about it, had General Motors been the OEM, Porsche engine reputation for dependability would be right there alongside the Vega.
@Defrag Is this confirmed? Pretty nice bhp bump.
When does it launch? A couple of months after S and GT3?

Gt3 is just 520hp I think
T + gt3 only models with manual
base is 390 or 395 hp with old 3.0 engine, s 510, gts 540, gt3 520, tops (turbo s) 710, base turbo no clue - that was initial info from ~a year ago.
dunno atm, things changed and i didnt bother for more info since premiere is less then week away. Basic carrera coming first now I heard with deliveries for summer, then gts october, but 6 months ago it was supposed to be gts > basic + s > gt3 > turbo s > targa models, ~3 months between each.

Good info about GT3 and Turbo S bhp. Since s and gts are confirmed to those bhp the others should be correct. Nothing has changed from that doc last year it seems.
The most important to this launch are the hybrids of course for the main models (except the base) and for the purists the turbo (non s).
Interesting series launch and models. Surely different and not boring.
Yes same info as mine last sept - and as of now -, except base launches with gts but it seems there might be delays with gts production.

They should also add PTV+ to it and RAS.
So is the gt3 going from the 4L to 3.6L? Is it staying completely NA? I guess I am surprised from a power standpoint where it is going to fall compared to typically lesser trim models. I also wonder if the gt3 engine does change is it some cause for concern as the 4.0 seems to be pretty bullet proof and just a great engine.
This is not a pretend stick shift look? That's the exact reason Porsche designed it this way -- to give PDK owners the appearance of a manual. Otherwise, they could have easily provided one of a bazillion other shifter designs.
The gap between the base the S will be huge! Over a 100 HP, I think they should at least bring up the base into the lower to mid 400s. It nonsense to keep create that huge gap, give it more power, probably fit it with the bigger turbos that the 992.1 S had and detune it a bit.

It looks like the manual shifter because it’s cost effective for them to do it this way.
That shifter is from the GT3 which has a different PDK that allows for shifting between gears with it.

I for one enjoy shifting with the lever vs. paddles on my RS. I only use paddles on the track and prefer shifting "manually" with the lever. I'm really hoping this option becomes available on a non GT PDK car.
My Dakar was pretty boring with the little subbie thing in place of the GT shifter
