I don't think it will matter. People will still want the GT3 even if it has less power. The NA part of it will have people want it just for that just like people want ICE only. Not to mention Porsche could just change things in other areas to help the GT3 in a track focus way.

Excellent point.

Have we thought about the possibility of the S and the GTS or maybe only one of them to be offered in ICE and E-Hybrid models? So S and E-Hybrid and GTS and GTS E-Hybrid.
Although not many would buy the hybrid, particularly if PAG insist on putting an "e-hybrid" badge with fluro highlights as they have to date.

The acid badging and calibers are optional on other models so these are not a problem.

I was also going to say a few months ago that not many will buy the hybrid but now I am not so sure. There are plus and minus but honestly as a potential buyer it is not easy to decide.

Indeed, I have an alloc for GTS (ie Track my Porsche email but no spec locked) from Sept, so will likely fall into this dilemma. Wouldn't mind PAG making the decision for me tbh

March/April 2024 would certainly seem ideal. If I am recalling correctly the earliest a new model year (i.e., 2025) can begin in the United States would be in February 2024. This guideline is set by The Department of Transportation.

These threads crack me up. I love a good speculation thread but people need to admit when they are speculating and nothing more... Also if history is any guide many of us on here we'll know actual details before our dealers take the time to get up to speed and dealer info pre-release has an awful track record on here.

Given the orignial 992 was released at LA Auto show I wouldn't be shocked if they show the 992.2 next month here. I'm giving that a 20% chance.

I am respectufully in no way speculating and posting facts from information direct from factory. There is zero chance to see the at the LA Auto Show. For now let's see if it will really launch in february or later.

Lettuce not forget that the title of this thread was originally April 2023 because Nick Furry said that's when the 992.2 would be released.

This is the info so far from the document I have been shown - this is now 2-3 weeks old so dates maybe changed:

Carrera Base: February/March 2024. Engine ICE only. Deliveries in EU May/June

Carrera S: January 2025. 510bhp. Supposedly a hybrid but maybe that document only included 2025 models and there is an ICE only coming in 2024 - have seen nothing in the doc on this

Carrera GTS: February/March 2024. 540bhp. E-Hybrid. Deliveries in EU May/June

GT3: December 2024

New info that came late last week suggests launch dates have been moved and only the base will launch in the summer which means deliveries autumn 2025. I have personally not verify this.

Additional things to find out:

1) As much as possible accurate launch and delivery dates

2) Bhp of the Base

3) Will the S and GTS be offered with 2 engine options? ICE and E-Hybrid? This is not probable but the delay of the hybrid S with 510bhp is suspicious.

There are still 992.1 to be allocated until January 2024 so if the base does really move to summer and delivery autumn 2024 then for people that want a S/GTS it might make sense.

That timeframe would make sense...Porsche usually gives allocations 4-6 months out so that would point to builds starting after the summer factory shutdown. I would think they will reveal at a larger show like Geneva in March or NY in April.
