992.2 April 2024 Release
#706
I’m not trying to argue with you. Of course, we’ll eventually see a 992.2. But last I’d heard from a couple local dealers is that Porsche hadn’t announced anything to them about the exact timing and which trims come first. I do remember however that a few months ago some local dealers will speculating we might get 992.2 for MY2024. Now we know that was wrong. By all indications, 992.2 is coming for MY2025. It will likely be introduced one trim at a time while other trims continue as MY2024 models under 992.1 platform. All I’m saying is that exactly when each trim is going to come seems like speculation at this point. Heck, even if Porsche really is giving a schedule, the dates might change because of all the production delays and changes. So personally, I would take all of it with a grain of salt. But again, not trying to argue. I really hope you get the exact trim for the 992.2 that you want and your wait is minimal and everything works out well as you’re expecting.
The biggest things Im actually wondering about are interior changes and if the engines will really be naturally aspirated. This would be absolutetly awesome and I think no one would complain about mild hybrid being there with this change.
Also, if you think about it - keeping base carrera as 3.0L without mild hybrid and same power is a a great move, as 718 (which was always a Porsche 'entry car') is basically gone for next 2 years (here you can no longer order anything else then base 2.0 718, not even S/GTS models), and it will be electric. While S/GTS trims get 3.6L engine + mild hybrid for way higher price with bigger horse power gap.
992 base and 992 carrera 4 would be purely 'entry' sportscar for petrol range.
I would expect that with that change the price gap between base carrera and s/4s trims will be WAY more significant, as base carrera will be considered now as 'entry sports car', while s/gts/turbo trims are going to have bigger engine and mild hybrid technology.

I think Porsche 992.2 will be optimized for diff market req’s.
We know that China is now the biggest market and they don’t need hybrid. Then there is Stasi-state with draconian emission controls, and the US market in between. So horses for courses, in diff configuration and volumes.

So many government/political leaks....but a dearth of leaks about the 992.2 from the Porsche factory.

I believe Ive searched the forum to avoid a hopeful duplicate question....has an actual MY 2024 order guide been released? While the configurator contains changes, nothing speaks to a 2024 edition.
thanks!
thanks!

The pricing is for 2024 and anything you build in the configurator with a recently issued allocation will use the new configurator options and pricing. Since we're talking build dates of July or so, I don't think we're going to see powertrain or 992.2 changes for MY24.

992.2 is confirmed to have some hybrid version. Note he says “992 will come with hybrid systems” and not a general 911.. Not that we didn’t know but it’s probably the first official confirmation we have

Maybe Im not being clear enough. Has anyone seen (generally in PDF form) the guide issued by PCNA to dealerships/salespeople detailing the model year changes for the 2024 911?
Yes the configurator has "changed" but it does not reference anything about whats new or different for the 2024 model year which is highly unusual considering its May already.
PCars always releases a media pieceon the new MY changes so as far as Im concerned, that video is simply assumptions.
