I'm sure all the ADM money will keep the dealers afloat just fine. Two groups I never feel sorry for - car dealers and realtors.

I would make the distinction between the “dealers” and the sales force, and other staff that work for the dealership. Yeah, the guys that own the dealerships will do just fine, but I think some SA will feel the pinch.

The latter group is particularly heinous given how they control the market (MLS and all). The worst is the buyer agent fee structure. Buyer agent should be paid directly by the buyer, not be a kickback from seller's agent fee.

Good for you. Hope it works out for you.

Exactly! I’m referring to the low men, not the owners. I would’ve thought that distinction would’ve been obvious to some people posting in this thread.

Reports are fire is starting to dissipate because it’s running out of stuff to burn. Tug boats and fire fighting boats arrived today.

Looks like they are starting the re-building process right now. TYD is active again and shows my freeze point is 4/11 with a delivery date of 7/1. About 4 months later than I was expecting, but I’ll take it.

I’m happy for you! What model? Does your rebuild build have the same commission #?

992 GTS. Nope, entirely new commission #. It's like the prior order never existed and I'm starting from scratch (albeit jumping ahead of others in line).

PCNA sold 70k cars in the US last year. The 1,100 that were presumably lost is 1.6% of that. No need to feel sorry for anyone over this.

Hypothetically speaking, lets say you were one of those US dealerships that were affected…then assume you are a SA at one of those dealerships who has 3 deliveries that are now toast. No delivery, no income….until the next delivery, and you are fortunate enough to have cars on the next delivery?

If one looks at this from a macroscopic level, yes, Porsche will be fine. Dealerships will be fine, but some SA’s will temporarily take a hit. Not the end of the world, but not everyone has the financial resources of most Porsche owners.

It’s not just about what was lost. It’s about all of the cars that have been sitting at ports for months…..

…..on basically sold cars. It’s not like they have tons of allocations.

Again, this isn’t about the company. This is about the little man making the sales and banking on paychecks to pay the bills.

Dealer just called and said porsche issued me an allocation for my now 3rd build. I'm a bit disappointed as the build date is in June and delivery in Aug/Sept. I was really hoping for a build/delivery months earlier. This for me translates into nearly 2 driving seasons lost of enjoying my car. This entire process has been a complete let down.
