My first build (2021 992 C2S manual) suffered a engine failure on delivery. Never even took the car home. Ordered another, same build, then Felicity Ace goes up in flames. Now gotta wait until late season to take delivery. I live in MN, and store my cars during winter, so nearly another full season down the drain.

Hypothetically speaking, lets say you were one of those US dealerships that were affected…then assume you are a SA at one of those dealerships who has 3 deliveries that are now toast. No delivery, no income….until the next delivery, and you are fortunate enough to have cars on the next delivery?
If one looks at this from a macroscopic level, yes, Porsche will be fine. Dealerships will be fine, but some SA’s will temporarily take a hit. Not the end of the world, but not everyone has the financial resources of most Porsche owners.

The salesmen typically make 25% of the dealership profit on a sale. With all these cars selling at MSRP - meaning at on average at least 4K less discount on each car they did very well last year. Anyone in sales needs to save in the fat times for the lean times. There are 2 ships a month stopping at the affected ports so this is one half month of cars...everyone at the dealership should be just fine.
I agree with this. But unfortunately, unexpected expense, unplanned expenses happen.
RE: “…EVEREYONE at the dealership should be just fine”.
LOL, sure, if you say so…and you know this how, exactly? Have a link?

I have read the posts on this thread and other threads on the Felicity Ace.
I have yet to get a clear and thoughtful explanation why completed vehicles sit at Emden and are delayed for months (even before the Felicity Ace incident). There is a logistics nightmare going on at the Port of Emden which is the real culprit of why SAs are not getting the compensation they are entitled to receive, The Felicity Ace contributed to the problem but is not the root cause. .

It is the biggest scam ever. Dealers dying for inventory of any kind to sell.. You lose all leverage, and days after they sell your car, the bad news starts rolling in, and in my case, never stops. They have no use for you.The end of the list, on to new customers…..

Audimotion, So sorry and you have my sympathy for your unbelievably bad luck, I feel your disappointment. My first car had some issues, the last issue being some cosmetic damage during shipping that they couldn’t repair perfectly (long story), so I also waited for a 2nd car (I got my car just before Covid , before market went crazy, dealership handled it well). All I can say is that when you do get your car and it is perfect, it is easier to forget the wait. Long shot , but if your dealer has any used 992s, maybe they can sell one to you and then buy it back for same price or close to same price when your car arrives.

Next on the hit list is meat.
My point is things change and conventional wisdom is very often wrong.
