PORSCHE 992 DISPLAY MENU

Now for something completely else. I have mentioned a couple of times here that I did not understand the menu structure of the main display. All the apps. And why the AppleCarplay button was not in the small menu anymore and if I could change that. The button was a small button on the left. No response from anyone here that it could be changed. Now you will see after my post many will say they already knew this lol. Here the pictures what I mean.

So this menu structure I did not like. But I could not find anyway to change this in the menus. And here the picture of the small AppleCarplay icon.

Of course I knew one could go to the main menu and change it. But it’s not what I wanted and on the old OS of the 992 in the menu you could find the AppleCarplay button. But that menu was horrible when scrolling. But it did not make sense for me so I always felt it could be changed. And yesterday I saw the video of the yellow 992 T with the Australian guys and I saw they had a different menu. So this morning I knew I had to find a way to change it. I am not a manual guy. Menus should always be intuitive so I needed to find it myself or it just wasn’t there. But nowhere in the menus any way to change it. Untill I saw this (stupid me for not seeing it before).

By pressing this you get a menu and you press the only option and than you get into the app select session. Just like the apps on your phone. At first I thought changing the position of the apps would change the position of the menu (first 5 apps would be shown in the shortcut menu of my first picture). But it didn’t so you need to manually change those pictograms as well. I made a video for you for some who don’t get it or are not that handy with computers and things. But here is the result.

So very happy now!!! Curious to hear now who already knew this, but just didn’t see my multiple requests on this issue

@Macboy Thanks for that bit of information.

My problem is the seemingly poor connectivity of Apple Car Play. Every time I get into the car it seems to take 3 or 4 mins to connect to it.
I didn't have this issue on the Taycan or Cayenne and I have the same settings now as back then.
Weird?!

Should not be the case. Did you try to plug it in with a USB cable to see if it’s different? Do you use the WiFi hotspot? Maybe delete all and forget the Bluetooth and start all over again?

I have always loved the painted center tunnel on the 997's. I think its very tasteful if you want a splash of color. I have seen the painted vents etc and felt like it was a little much. For me with the 992 I think that other the GT silver the painted trim pieces are a little too much color but understand why someone might like it. I ordered my python green with the lizard green carrera T package with both tach and clock with lizard green so I do love to have some tie in with the outside. Honestly, I love it when someone decides to step out a little and make it theirs. It would be so boring if we all were driving the same looking cars. For the life of me I cannot see why carmine red has not been ordered more than it has I think that is a nice subtle color that compliments the lines on the T. I have owned more guards red Porsches than I can comment on and of course love it but Carmine red reminds me more of polo red which is such a cool color on vintage Porsches.

Another example of the creative genius that is ECNJ.
We are blessed to have him on this forum, I mean after all how many other Porsche forums can lay claim to a motoring Picasso???

@Macboy Yeah plugging it in works but life’s too short and anyway that’s a pain and shouldn’t be necessary.

Never been there, but I've watched it "live" since 1989. Seen why that wall is the wall of "champions", saw Alesi winning his only F1 race, also Panis' bad luck up to Vettel changing the boards and later.
My last GP was in 2020, at Nürburgring (where else) but usually I am not a fan of "live attending", as I don't like crowds at all.

Have fun! And wave every time you see a camera...

Had a day off work today so got to do some serious detailing and added the ceramic on top of the PPF. Looking shiny!

thanks for this pic! This is the exact car seat I have and was wondering how would fit in the back seat.

Lets hope Merc and Aston Martin have brought more upgrades to close the gap on RBull.
If not it will be another procession😞😞

But I have to guess breaking the car in properly has much to do with this and I really think I did this in the best perfect way. Less oil usage, higher topspeed, lower consumption, more power. All in the details of course. But we will hear later from our fellow German T drivers soon.
Yes I have mentioned this many times in this topic. Now currently 18 unsold new Carrera T in the Netherlands all ordered by (somewhat stupid) dealers.
The "problem is", nowadays, the autobahn is more and more clogged with cars and traffic jams and the lane discipline is non existent, the rear-view mirror is an unnecessary appendix (just like the human one) and the art of speed/approach rate guessing is a long lost art. I don't drive faster than 120 mph, unless I drive on a 3+ lane autobahn and at least 2 of them are free.
If you guys intend to do some "speed runs" during your European delivery, just make sure you have enough "room" to start with and (to avoid "Jessi Lang" surprises) be careful when approaching and passing other cars. Drive and plan ahead, as if the other cars will swerve without notice in front of you. The autobahn might be "unrestricted", but the "recommended" speed is 130 km/h and any accident above that speed will automatically have you at fault, unless you can demonstrate in court that the accident would have happen anyway, disregarding the above 130 speed.

Short anecdote: was driving last week on the autobahn, third lane, came behind a SUV, after a while, seeing that despite having room on the right, he will not change lanes to let me by, I flash him once (you are allowed to do that, to show your intent to overtake, but only once and only from a safe distance behind), nothing.
Behind me, a tuned Seat/Cupra break (think Golf R on steroids). As the SUV guy keeps hogging the lane, the Seat overtakes us on the right, start flashing from only 2-3 meters behind the SUV until it makes him change the lane, lets me by and then joins behind me
Now that's above the so called "Überholprestige" (overtaking prestige - your car looks powerful enough that when approaching other cars on the autobahn, they will make room and let you by, immediately). The T has cars that would clear the road for them, pushing other cars aside
