Yep. No FAL, none of the blind spot stuff cameras, or even electric mirrors or active cruise control. Ripped the back seat out and wrapped it all in leather and threw on a CF hat. I love my spec.

Okay Gentleman... I have posted a very detailed review of the Euro Delivery Experience... went into some driving dynamic review of the car as well, but this was mostly to display my ED experience. Attached is the link!

I have to say, that looks pretty classy. I'm also a sucker for that Ruby Red. You're very right that it can really work it the right color combo.

Of course @Macboy made the recommendation to go without RWS for a more playful car. So double win there. I have an F80 M3 and love sliding it around. Got about 10K out of my first set of tires (Michelin) on that.

And make no mistake that these cars are loaded with electronics. Don't fool yourself into thinking leaving off one thing will magically make it not a pain to support in 50 years. Even with a 50 year old car (my '72T), the mechanical fuel injection is a pain to support. It works brilliantly when in good tune but I felt better putting a 993 3.6l with factory electronic fuel injection into it.

My wife’s 71 MG B has been in the shop for over a year now. The transmission needs to be opened to figure out why it doesn’t always go into third and the carbs need to be adjusted. The guy who owns the shop has no problem finding mechanics to work on cars produced in the last 30 years. But he can’t find anybody who has experience with carbs so they’re afraid to work on the car.

There is always something. With old 911s today at least, parts are readily available. Porsche does a great job making parts for old cars and we have an incredible aftermarket. I don’t work on carbs but I have some good friends that know them well. That skill should be around for a while. Try finding parts or knowledge about the Audi urq in the US. One of 668 imported to the US and they changed things every year, so one of 65 for 1984. That was a bit of a wake up call for me. I can figure out most of the basic stuff but there isn’t a ton online to pull from. I’ll likely be dirt in 50 years so the collectibility of this T (or my old T or my urq or…) isn’t important to me. I’m a ‘buy something wicked awesome’ and keep it forever kind of person. While I don’t have my T yet, I think it will fit that criteria.

interesting, I know most of us are past the ordering period and probably not paying attention as much to the configurator. I was playing around with it just now and noticed they have already rolled out another new design for the configurator website. Im sure some of us remember when it updated earlier this year and caused some confusion.
