The weight of a hybrid battery and motor would utterly defeat the purpose and character of a Carrera T.
My guess is that they would skip the hybrid on the T, like on the GT cars.
Does anyone have any information about hybrid/particulate filter for the 2024 Carrera T?
Or at least thoughtful conjecture?
I am having a hard time letting go of the PTS (Superior Red) Carrera T dream... for Chalk.

Well, If we look at history I'd venture to say that the T may only be built on the 992.1 platform. With the 991, they only had it for a short period of time. Who knows, maybe they decide to make it a standard offering, but I'd guess that if/when the 992 platform goes hybrid this model will not be launched right away or at all. This is purely speculation based on the past. The T, in previous generation, was a way for them to put out an exciting somewhat limited offering before they updated the platform to 992... Sounds like they are doing the same thing here.... time will tell

I intend to get a 992 T in GT Silver and add Martini Racing decals to it.

Traditionally, Martini Racing would go on a white body, but I don’t like white cars, remind me of house appliances 😆

Based on what I've read and learned, to me I would think Porsche would make this 911T as a 2023 only, and if the MY2024 is hybrid for all but the GT 911's, then the T would simply be dropped. They can't make a lightweight 911T hybrid, not unless they change the definition of lightweight.

I'm hoping it works out this way because obviously that would make the T's a very low production car. Assuming my dealer comes through for me and Porsche actually builds the darned thing, and also assuming driving the 911T is actually a great experience, then I'll be very happy. If not, I'll sell it and keep enjoying the heck out of my CGTS4.0 because, MAN, do I love driving that car! LOL

Time will tell!

I'd bet either Porsche surprises us and makes the T continue production at the beginning of the 992.2 or only makes the T's during the final model years of each generation and sub-generation starting with the 991.2

I checked out Ice Grey in person yesterday - it is kind of pearlescent. Hard to capture in a pic.

Which dealer? I'm high on the list at Porsche Marin but since it's my first Porsche I am suspicious I will get leapfrogged by priority customers quite a bit.

Is anyone else planning to do European Delivery with their T? Anyone that already has an allocation already?

I have Leipzig pickup on my demand order. I will do Zuffenhausen drop-off so I get to experience both locations.

Anyone else concerned about the standard Li battery on the T? It seems like a bit of a headache with higher risk of a dead battery and a very expensive replacement with no aftermarket alternative at the moment. Maybe Porsche is getting people ready for the hybrid experience! haha

Anyone have any deets on the LWBS? My dealer can't confirm if they'll be available yet. I've put a deposit but I won't be buying if I can't get LWBS or if they charge GT3 option prices. Sofas defeat the point of the T IMHO, especially in the heavier 992.

if you’re concerned about the lightweight things, a Base or S is probably the better car for you

My understanding is all 992's optioned with RAS have a Li battery as well as all 992's in "cold" countries (like Canada and Finland, for example). I think it might be a 70Ah battery as opposed to the slightly lower capacity 60Ah in the T. Maybe a reason to not get the more powerful Burmester sound system. Hah!

I've seen the standard Li 992 battery (the 70Ah capacity one) for about $250, but I imagine that cost will double with the programming probably required by your dealer.

YES!!! I need to educate myself on these batteries. What type of battery tender works best, are there any restrictions on which jump box I can use. etc.

I totally disagree with this. If the guy wants LWB to keep the theme of a lightweight 911T, why would he be better off with an S?

Everyone seems to concur that LWB's will be available on the T as soon as someone in IT gets around to updating the configurator.

Great choice, I always liked Martin Racing livery on silver.

I read that all RAS cars have the Li battery that is standard on the T whether you get RAS or not on the T. The problem seems that the battery is proprietary with a controller and costs $2500 from Porsche, not $250. There also seem to be fairly common problems with charge retention and jump starting that can require a replacement battery, for $2500. Even if it works normally, that's a crazy price for a replacement battery when the time comes. I love the idea of a lightweight battery but don't love the proprietary $2500 Porsche battery. I'm happy to be wrong about any of this, but it does seem to be a legitimate concern.
