992 Carrera T Club
#1216
My SA at a high 911 volume dealership told me there will not be any PTS until the
2024 model year, i.e. August 2023. Assuming that is true, does anyone know whether a 2024 Carrera T would have
the particulate filter and be hybrid?
The weight of a hybrid battery and motor would utterly defeat the purpose and character of a Carrera T.
My guess is that they would skip the hybrid on the T, like on the GT cars.
Does anyone have any information about hybrid/particulate filter for the 2024 Carrera T?
Or at least thoughtful conjecture?
I am having a hard time letting go of the PTS (Superior Red) Carrera T dream... for Chalk.
...and I don't want the heavier brakes and increased turbo lag of an S.

I intend to get a 992 T in GT Silver and add Martini Racing decals to it.
Traditionally, Martini Racing would go on a white body, but I don’t like white cars, remind me of house appliances 😆

Based on what I've read and learned, to me I would think Porsche would make this 911T as a 2023 only, and if the MY2024 is hybrid for all but the GT 911's, then the T would simply be dropped. They can't make a lightweight 911T hybrid, not unless they change the definition of lightweight.
I'm hoping it works out this way because obviously that would make the T's a very low production car. Assuming my dealer comes through for me and Porsche actually builds the darned thing, and also assuming driving the 911T is actually a great experience, then I'll be very happy. If not, I'll sell it and keep enjoying the heck out of my CGTS4.0 because, MAN, do I love driving that car! LOL
Time will tell!

I'd bet either Porsche surprises us and makes the T continue production at the beginning of the 992.2 or only makes the T's during the final model years of each generation and sub-generation starting with the 991.2

Is anyone else planning to do European Delivery with their T? Anyone that already has an allocation already?

Anyone else concerned about the standard Li battery on the T? It seems like a bit of a headache with higher risk of a dead battery and a very expensive replacement with no aftermarket alternative at the moment. Maybe Porsche is getting people ready for the hybrid experience! haha

Anyone have any deets on the LWBS? My dealer can't confirm if they'll be available yet. I've put a deposit but I won't be buying if I can't get LWBS or if they charge GT3 option prices. Sofas defeat the point of the T IMHO, especially in the heavier 992.

I've seen the standard Li 992 battery (the 70Ah capacity one) for about $250, but I imagine that cost will double with the programming probably required by your dealer.

YES!!! I need to educate myself on these batteries. What type of battery tender works best, are there any restrictions on which jump box I can use. etc.
I totally disagree with this. If the guy wants LWB to keep the theme of a lightweight 911T, why would he be better off with an S?
Everyone seems to concur that LWB's will be available on the T as soon as someone in IT gets around to updating the configurator.

My understanding is all 992's optioned with RAS have a Li battery as well as all 992's in "cold" countries (like Canada and Finland, for example). I think it might be a 70Ah battery as opposed to the slightly lower capacity 60Ah in the T. Maybe a reason to not get the more powerful Burmester sound system. Hah!
