LOL. No need to duck. It's all opinions right now anyway. I will say one thing though. Search rennlist to see how many folks in the 991.2 T forums said there would be no 992T. I was pretty sure there would be.
Most folks didn't think it would happen again and here we are.

Same here - I did believe there would be a 992 T, tho it took so long that some skepticism had started to grow. The announcement last Oct was a surprise to me - it was only thereafter that I read somewhere here on RL that some guys had "decoded" VINs back in May so they knew back then that a 992 T was coming. Porsche had said there would be a 992 T, so I tended to think it would happen eventually. They've also said the 4.0L from the 718 would not go into the 911 but, then, I believe they also said the 4.0L from the GT3 would not go into the 718, and then the GT4 RS later showed that to be untrue...

I am leaning in the camp that it will happen more than not. however, it would be a good option for Porsche to add a mid-hybrid. Then what? Give Porsche enthusiasts both what they desire and what they want to avoid...

If it gives you any hope, this happened to me as well. My production start date was 2/24, but TYD didn't update until I think 2/27 or 2/28. Received the first production photo on 2/28, and on 3/1 I received the remaining 3 photos. Currently scheduled to complete production by 3/7.

I didn't get the cool personalized video everyone else got back on 3/3 though

I relate to this, I've been exactly the same way. I'm doing ED at Zuffenhausen in July, but I've been pestering my SA any time TYD takes more than a day to update. He told me not to worry about it since it'll be done by July. I told him I don't care, I'm obsessive and enjoy following the journey.

About the steering column: for me it’s a must buy option the same reason full leather is a must have option. Because I need the stitching and leather in this car since it is so expensive for me I need this beautiful look. I respect many people here who go for the T ethos. But I cannot look at that dash. So when you opt for the leather details and want to see stitching I will always see that plastic piece behind the wheel. Especially sitting on the passenger side. But don’t forget you see the stitching part on the top of the steering column every moment you drive the car. So it’s not that you only see it when getting in. See my picture of the yellow one I posted. When paying so much for a dream car why saving $500? So this is my view and a different perspective than where you come from. And as far as Porsche prices go this was pretty cheap.

Furthermore almost no other German brand offers leather behind the wheel. So it’s a quite special option. Final remark: if you opt for different interior color than you must order this part. Everything in color except for the plastic behind the wheel. It elevates the car so much more. But that’s no argument on the T of course since it’s all black. But if you add the deviated stitching it becomes a must again. And I think you went for the silver stitching right? Maybe need to rethink this option?

About the safety feautures: the lane changing warning is a tool that should be standard in each car. It is saving many lives. The 911 look over the shoulder is not the best. And my wife will be driving this car as well. So sometimes adding these options is not a bad thing.

I can only say that seeing the yellow stitching in real life made me drewl over the floor. So don’t skip it just because of the minor 3% extra. You will not regret it.

To me personally the T with manual makes a lot of sense with the turbo. But it’s just something I would need to testdrive. Either way a new T will not come within 4/5 years if it comes.
