I don't recall ever seeing a step saying that.

Porsche has been using these type of paints since the 50s (Fashion Grey, Sand Grey). Slate grey was used for one of the first 911s as well. Not sure there is anything new. Trends in paint color are always there, but these colors are all classic. Chalk is just an updated version to me. The comparison to primer or drywall doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I could make negatively compare almost any color to something. I actually like the color of primer. . Having said all of that, I prefer metallic colors on the 911 but only because it works so well on the car. My RS3 is turbo blue. A non-metallic toyish blue that's similar to the early 2000s S4 blue. I like that for the car as well. If it suits the car and you like it, go for it. If others hate it, that's icing on the cake.

Thanks, I was going for the bang for buck approach to my build. My manufacturing start date was suppose to be yesterday but the TYD still hasn't updated to that step yet. It's saying 4/14 at the dealer but I'm guessing that's a little optimistic.

Porsche Amsterdam just received their second T in chalk but with the T interior package in slate grey! Might go tomorrow for some detailed pics. Again PDK.

Hi, that would be awesome to get some real pictures of that car!

Mine is similar in spec at the moment. Lock-in for me is on Friday (in 2 days) so need to make up my mind soon.
This is my current spec:

I just got the notice from my SA that despite TYD saying "released for transport" and supposed to be at the port Feb 28th, my delivery date in Colorado just moved from 3/30 to 5/16, 45 days!!! SA saying he thinks its the deviated stitching as he knows one other customer just got a similar delay. My original date was going to be ideal here in Colorado's shorter season, now like many others I wait...

What color stitching did you order?

Guards red...but doesn't seem to make sense in light of prior updates.

That sucks! Do you have a link to your build?

If your build has completed and it was "released for transport", it is most certainly not at all related to stitching... That would have delayed you earlier in the process... This is almost 100% related to shipping issues at the port. there are known delays at Emden affecting many Rennlisters right now, and I am shocked that your SA is claiming build sheet items as a reason for the delay unless he can see on his end that your car has not actually completed its build yet and your TYD is wrong (which is possible)... Id ask him what "Step" the car shows on his internal tracker... If its been released, its a shipping issue

I’m not sure if this has been asked before but is this the last year for the T designation? The reason I ask is because the first time around Porsche only ran it for 6 years (1968-73). It would be like Porsche to follow history and run it for just 6 years. Something to ponder while I wait.
