Nope- not a prowriter - did win best Xmas story in 6th grade though.
These cheap options like the roof carrier prep and camera prep- seem like they are so cheap they might as well be included. If you buy the camera kit for the car - $500 with tax - your dealer has to install them and enable them in the cars electronics. I need to call a dealer and find out what they charge. Probably will end up costing a $1,000. Also if enabled the wireless CarPlay is disabled and you have to use wired CarPlay again.
but the system does auto record on vibrations or collision or if the alarm is set off so could be useful.
the rooftop carrier prep seems like it might be nice if you ski, or bike ( imagine getting a bike up there without scratching your car however. And Porsche sells several sizes of fiberglass boxes which might be nice if taking a long distance trip?
on the aero kit- Your dealers relationship with the factory people seems to matter and if your dealer will use their relationship with the factory to advocate for a client in regards to oddball options.
Porsche is small enough that “knowing” people matters like with Joey who manages the ED program in Atlanta’s Porsche headquarters or my buddy Charles - head of PECLA’s new car delivery department in Los Angeles Experience Center. Throughout Porsche I have found being a good long term customer is important to not only your dealer but also with most of the decision making Porsche employees within the company.
Here is a good tip on who to build a relationship with at a dealer also. I have been buying cars directly with a sales manager of my favorite dealership - he has the direct contact with the factory reps and has control of allocations as well.
If you want to be remembered by your dealer - particularly the all important sales manager- buy from him a Porsche watch- if you like watches. How about one of those electric Porsche bikes? These are items the Porsche factory wants their dealers to sell and this helps them with their allocations of cars actually.
I get all the cars I buy at MSRP - so I sort of get the watch I own and the electric bike for free.
The sales manager at a dealership feels this pressure to sell other Porsche products from the porsche headquarters - help him make his quotas on these type of things and he will help you get the cars you want at the price you want.
It is a game worth playing and that is how you can get your Aero kit for your car installed or a spot for an ED even though in theory there are no openings left or your Panamera delivered at PECLA despite the official story that only 911’s can get a PECLA delivery.
This is how you also obtain cars at msrp - or just pay a large premium over msrp and that works too if you prefer not to build a relationship.

Can someone on here with a 991T confirm some info for me from another thread...

Was the factory Carbon Fiber bucket seat in the 991 a folding bucket??? Or are these aftermarket... They are actually PERFECT... I think I might have to bite the bullet and find a way to fit aftermarket carbon buckets to my T... They are just perfect looking on this one

Seems that the New TYD/MyPorsche app is sending out pictures to most people 48hrs after production begins, but possibly day 2... so keep your eyes on your MyPorsche page today and tomorrow.
