992 Carrera T Club
OK so we rename the forum ‘992 Carrera Clubsport’ and if anyone orders PDK or doesn’t order the lightweight seats they go to jail.
Sounds fair enough to me👍
Hey @Wilder we want to see your 992T next to big cactus, not a random tree
It's full of bodies. Great way to get them through at the border. "Yes officer, I'm just going camping".
Those numbers are a little skewed from idling at the border for 1.5hrs. The actual trip was 12.5hrs at 110mph on cruise control (any faster and the tent gets very loud), and MPG was more like 14.3. No speeding tickets. The joys of living in Mexico.
First leg of my road trip to Rennsport and the longest I've driven the T non stop. 14 hrs. A couple of observations:
- The 4 ways are excellent. I'm tired naturally, but my body doesn't feel beat up.
- The cabin noise gets irritating after a while at 3k rpm or above. I put on my noise cancelling earbuds and voila. Problem solved.
- Extended range tank is a must.
- I totally get and value 7th gear now, especially when combined with cruise control.
I wear hearing aids so can not utilise the cancelling ear plugs you refer to.
Is the noise over a long trip unbearable I plan European Tours next year 10 hours drives at a time.
Do you think in my circumstances (with fitted hearing aids) I should put back the rear seats to help lessen the cabin noise?.
I would welcome your comments or is the noise just about bearable what revs does the car pull in 7th gear at say a 80 mph cruise, if it is more like 2000 rpm perhaps will lessen the effect of the cabin noise? As 80 is pretty much the speed limit in Europe apart from Germany.
Thanks for any advice, Great pics of your trip up to Rennsport journey. Devon Racer

@ Wilder I have configured my car without rear seats for the obvious reasons, but I think maybe have a handful of days before freeze.

My HPDE cut short because . . . . glass broke AGAIN! This time I came back to the hotel from dinner, opened the door and as I started to get out of the car I heard a very slight pop and here's the way it looks now. Second time in 3 months!

FVCK! Same window, isn't it? Seems to me that the problem must be in the window mechanism somehow. Maybe it's keeping the glass under constant tension. You opened the door, the glass does it's automatic movement thing, and bam!
Sorry man. THIS SUCKS! But clearly, it's the door breaking the glass.
WOW! That is distressing! Do you know what could be the trigger?
I am asking, as with the widows up and relatively high cabin pressure, I have to close the door with some force to close it properly, so I have to be careful.
Another thing - I've had my door not close all the way a few times. I'm pretty sure the window is down a bit when you shut the door and then snugs up against the seal once the door is closed. I wonder if that could be malfunctioning and causing stress to the window.
