I got a firm offer for Late June/first week of July... I guess the actual "dates" aren't available to the ED team until 2 weeks from now, but my original order was placed with Leipzig delivery selected, so that helped me be high enough on that list of people that I was told Ill have a spot... I knew the factory/museum option was never going to happen based on popularity so I skipped Zuffenhausen.
My concern is that they could always push me to the end of July, and then all of a sudden my car has been built since march, sitting somewhere for me to then maybe not get a chance to pick up till late July (or later)... then it takes 4-8 weeks to ship back, and we are into the fall in Boston at that point and Im now 9 months from having my car instead of 3... Its honestly going to be something to think about. Euro Delivery is a once in a lifetime trip, but I also hope that this isnt my last Porsche, and Atlanta sounds fun too. I think I will know the answer at the beginning of February when I hear if my confirmed date is June (in which case Ill stick to Euro) or if it gets pushed much later.

Same thoughts. Once in a lifetime trip (despite reading about high rollers on Rennlist having done it 5 or 6 times!). I do make it to Germany relatively often having family there (hence a possible factory tour in March) and rented a 2019 Targa 4GTS for the day at Porsche Berlin. Having it for the day for about 450 Euro was fantastic. It only had 600km on the clock when I picked it up--as close to ED as I've gotten thus far. Drove it down to Dresden and back on the Autobahn. Awesome machine.
Picking up your own car and doing the track experience at Leipzig was the real selling point for me though. I wonder if you can do the Leipzig track experience even if Euro Delivery isnt possible? I want to go back to Germany this summer either way and get to the Nurburgring, RUF factory, and then explore some other countries I missed last time. I'm sure it will all work out one way or another, but to your earlier point, it sucks that some people have had the opportunity to do this on every single car they've ever built. My SA told me I'm the first person outside of their GT3/918 customers that has made it this far on scheduling ED, and its only because I ran with it instead of him lol.

Responding to my self/correcting my response here slightly....
Just got off the phone with the shop I use.. highly respected in the Boston area. I was right about the Full front, Side Skirts, Wheel arches and roof: All in $2450. For them to do a new car prep (clay bar, wash paint correct any factory blemishes) + FULL CAR Xpel, and Ceramic Coat: All in $5500. Without Ceramic etc. you drop into the mid $4K range. Higher than what I said above, but still far less than what you were told @renn.tp . I can't believe a shop would throw out $8,9,10,11K quotes, WHO would spend that?

Drifting
Collect your new Porsche from the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta [PECATL], GA. Includes a tour of the Porsche Experience Center facility, lunch at Restaurant 356 overlooking the track, a 90-minute instructed track session in an equivalent car, and one-on-one private delivery of your new Porsche.
I think someone in another thread said you get a photoshoot of your car on their grounds as well.

RE: PPF
Personally, I would PPF the entire car, or not do PPF at all.
Halfway or partial is never a good idea. You get lines (yes, you do, no matter how good the installation is or what the installer says) and you will eventually get different shades of color on your car from the varying degrees of patina between exposed and unexposed portions.
Just decide.
PPF or no PPF.
If the former, go full car.
Just like with condoms. If you decide to wear one, you wouldn't just wear half of one, right?

God bless them, but I get the sense that these blue collar workers think that just because we can afford an $140k car we should also take it up the a** on PPF. It really bothers me. Maybe when then fed pumped the system with money that story sold, but $10k+ for plastic film is absurd, especially when you realize there are little to no barriers to entry and low input costs.

I had front PPF on my Lava T and there was no difference at all afte one year of ownership. Also the lines were visible only at closer look. So no big deal for me.

Aero
Damn… now I have the allocation I started to finalise my spec which included asking other Porsche friends’ opinions; and since the showroom car was spec’d with Aero, two other builds were sent to me and it has really got me thinking! I was 100% against at first but now I’m not sure.
it’s effectively only an extra £1,100 to add as it includes sports front and rear…
Thoughts? Is it a mistake to include? 🤦♂️

Having the Aerokit also then makes you think of paying even more, having it gloss Black as the Matt grey trim looks a bit cheap alongside the Aerokit.
I'll wait for my 2029 GT3 allocation for a Big Wing..
However, i showed an Aerokit 992 to a non Porsche work Colleague, his response ; "that's F##kin Mint" 😂
*edit : don't listen to me about what doesn't belong on a T, I'm speccing Sunroof and PDK! 😅

As much as the 18 year old in me thinks the Aerokit is cool and it is cool, but I'm not sure it belongs on the T.

This post is a "f... mint"
Clearly you have a better relationship with your OPC, my letter of intent got shredded and recycled as compost. The OPC is going green
I am listening to everyone... but ultimately it will be built for yours truly. However, this is not my terminal 911, I have Targa 4S on order, so stripper spec (lightly dressed and RS boots) is equally attractive.

Also have a Targa 4S on order but 992.2 guise.. I suppose you can't spec Aerokit on a Targa so this maybe your chance 😉
