I kept the standard badge on my T build, but after seeing all the "911" badges, I'm thinking I may change it if I do PPF. I'm also wondering if I can get away with a classic 911T badge and paint it agate.
I would do it. I was actually a bit disappointed when I saw that partiular badging was unavailable. Be even nicer if it were matching to the grey side mirrors and rims. So, yes please!
That was certainly my impression with my first P-car. With following purchases it gets a little better, but not much, as I am still not on the GT car list (!?)
I say skip RAS. It's your first Porsche, so you'll never miss what you never had. IMO, RAS does not make a 911 and the 992 already drives beautifully without RAS. From 992 with RAS that I've driven on streets, I don't think RAS makes it drive any better, just different. Maybe if you will track frequently, it would be nice to have? It is definitely good for reducing turning circle for tight parking maneuvers but the 992 already has a fairly small turning circle without RAS to begin with.
Only get FAL if you really think you'll need it. Most people won't need it as the 992 already has pretty good clearance and approach angles for a sports car, though the T is slightly lowered with SPASM. I went for FAL simply because I have a Taycan with FAL and without FAL engaged I would scrape the entrance ramp of my own garage as well as some city garages I park at pretty badly. FAL engaged eliminated that problem with my Taycan, so I assumed my incoming 992T would need it too.
Appreciate the insight! My salesperson said I should get FAL because it will be a value add if I resell it. Admittedly, he does not, and has not owned a Porsche (I think this should be a prerequisite for being a salesperson IMO). I live in Dalas, TX and I prob won't need FAL because it is relatively flat. I feel like it's one of those nice to haves. RAS, I feel like from a driving perspective probably helps, I am getting this car to drive and enjoy. Savage Geese on YT motioned in his review that it's a must have option (didn't mention FAL). To your point, I have never had and won't know the difference. But I am more inclined to add a performance option over a just mechanical option (FAL vs RAS). I may just do without RAS and FAL because I can always get it on my next 992 (which from what I've read in the forum, most people will always get another in some form). I didn't realize optioning a car could be fun and difficult at the same time lol.
Last Saturday (1/27) I got my pics (including the elevator one) and TYD was still showing as Stage 4 (In Production) with the next stage (production completed) set for 1/25. I figured no bid deal and that TYD will adjust itself down shortly as the car is obviously done. Well now TYD is showing a 2/25 completion date...meaning another 3 weeks from now until production complete, even though the car has been physically built. Anyone seen something like that before?

My T has neither FAL nor RAS. Despite having a very steep driveway, and not particularly good roads in my neighborhood, I have not found FAL necessary. I’ve scraped my lip maybe twice in 6 months, and neither time produced any visible damage. Also, you can buy like 10 replacement lips for the cost of FAL.
RAS I feel a bit differently about. I’ve driven a 992 C2S with RAS on track and it was a noticeable difference, and (I thought) an improvement. On the street I could not tell the difference, but the track was a different story. As a result, my opinion is that if I had to spec my car over again, now that I’m getting more into track days, I would add RAS. For a purely street driven car though I would save my money.
Final road trip log: home. 2.5 weeks and 2,500 miles. The car just clocked 8k miles. This might be my last adventure in this car, and it won't soon be forgotten.
Have I mentioned how much I love black on a 911? And how much I also hate black on 911s? Well at least I hate how easily it shows dust and dirt. But damn it looks good when clean!
Sidenote: After over 20 months since placing a deposit for my first new 911, I finally got the call from my local dealer who I placed the original order with. and we went through the figures on this build: 911 Carrera T | Porsche Car Configurator
With the price increases during my lengthy wait PLUS a new Federal Luxury Tax our government decided to add from September 2022, the cash needed to go from my current 991.2 T to the new one simply did not make sense to me. When that dollar figure could get me a very nice 718 Cayman (used) or a multitude of different 911s, I just can't see the point.
Maybe I'll end up with two T's one day.....a 991.2 and a 992 (used)! I truly believe the current "market" for new 911s and their allocations has some major flaws and the massive number of sub-1000mile cars proves the point. It has left a bitter taste in the mouth of this 40-year plus diehard enthusiast and 20-year 911 owner. Still going to look at these great cars as they continue to reach their new owners!
@timothymoffat I'm so sorry things didn't work out for you. Perhaps they are for the best. The 992 is a spectacular car but so is the 991.2, just in a different way. The 992 may be more competent and refined but the 991.2 is more fun. I don't think I'd do it either if I was in your shoes. As for black, I fully agree. Having a very difficult time wrapping my head around selling it. I'd love to keep it but I really don't need it and don't see when/where I'll drive it. Then again, it wouldn't be the first time I have two identical cars and having this discussion with someone who shares that broken logic is asking for trouble.

I have no idea what what you’re speaking of…..two near identical cars at the same time? WHY would anybody do that?
First roadtrip out in the new T, took it to a local nature reserve with some lovely switchbacks locally here in Ontario. Still. Just crested 379KM LOL its nice to also get it out of 3rd gear (pains of living right in the heart of the city)

I greatly prefer silver wheels. They would certainly be my preference for my Shark Blue T. A local SB GT3 as an example.
