Great news!
Makes me wonder... are the Canada-bound cars not affected by the US's embargo on an electronic part from Belarus as mentioned on an another thread? This is apparently why many US-spec cars with the offending part are being held at destination ports across the country until that part is replaced.
So if Canada-bound cars are not affected, does that explain the fortunate advancement of your build? Perhaps some US-spec builds are being delayed from starting production until the replacement parts are available at the factory, which allows all non-US-spec cars to have their scheduled dates advanced?

The ban against imports from Belarus was introduced in March 2022 by all NATO countries, you would have thought / hoped after 2 years Porsche would have found an alternative source!!

I'd ditch the 18-way seats- even for an ex-rower. The 4-way seats weigh dozens of lbs less. They also mean less electronics in the door and steering column which is a meaningful weight savings. I'm 5'8 and thought I'd get rear seats, then I went to dealer and actually sat in the back behind the driver seat with the driver seat all the way forward. My head was wedged against the ceiling. No human over say 5'7 would ever want to sit back there for more than 60 seconds... not to mention uniqueness and weight savings with rear seat delete. Just some things to consider given I just went through a T build and excruciated over each decision. Rest of build looks great. I saw a Gentian GT3 with carbon roof at the dealer- looked so nice together.

Re the 18 way seats - I’m a back problem sufferer!
Having driven a 992 with standard sports seats, then driven mine with the 18 ways, for me at least it was a no brainier!
The lumbar support and other seat position options were a must, particularly on long journeys!!
As for the weight, unless you suffer from malnutrition etc, its simple just go on a diet for a few weeks to compensate👍

I have had major back problems and even had to sell cars (eg Elise). Every back is different but for me, nothing like a plain old chair/seat plus a small cushion - does the trick.

Furthermore, if I lost the 40lbs that the 18-ways weigh, I'd be 6ft 120lbs and extremely malnourished to the point where driving would be unsafe... So for me, standard seats as a no brainer.

I tried the 14 way ventilated seats and those were also uncomfortable for me. I think the 18 ways are the best seats Porsche makes, for my body anyway

If you can achieve an optimal seating position with the 4-way good for you.
This might come as a surprise, but there are people out there with not your body type. They might be willing to sacrifice a little weight for better interface with the vehicle. Good visibility, stability, ease of manipulating the controls are probably more important to driving performance than 40 pounds or what ever it is.

I was 100% happy with the sport buckets in my 997.2 GT3 when I first got it. 13 years later, my body and back were not so happy with it anymore. It needed some lumbar support and I'd always have a small pillow stashed in the glove box that I'd use as lumbar support for when I drove it. While it wasn't the main reason I sold the GT3, it was definitely included in a longer list of reasons why I finally justified parting with it. My older body wanted more comfort and adjustability.
I like the added long-term flexibility of the 18-way for this. And I always plan to keep my 911 for a while. Had the 997.2 for 13 years, and will probably keep the T just as long if not longer as well. I can adjust the lumbar for when I develop back issues, and adjust bolsters for when I get fatter etc, lol...

is the claim that standard seats are superior or is it a value proposition?
one might argue that ~C$3,200 for an option that you spend 100% of your *** in.. is a better value than ~$5,600 for the sports design package so you can try to fool people that you are piloting a GTS 🙃

Likewise, I felt the standard bumper was superior because I don't like how the Sport Design package looks.
The fact that both were less expensive simply made it a win/win. I would have chosen the Sport Seat Plus over the 18-ways even if the Sport Seat Plus cost more. Same with the standard bumper.

My claim was that for me standard seats are superior, yes, because they weigh less and are perfectly comfortable for me. I also prefer the manual fore/aft adjustment because it's way faster for letting my son into the backsea+

Since my T is stuck at JAX port - maybe for a couple of months, I'm thinking of trading in my current car early (2020 Taycan Turbo S). If I do so now, can I still apply the trade value toward the T purchase and benefit from the sales tax savings? I'm in Florida if that matters.
