My TYD was originally showing a production completed date of 4/12, but I got the email that it reached Step 5 yesterday, and then I got these pictures this morning! Super happy with what I've seen so far, and it looks like I got Michelins!
Hi all, pretty new to posting on RL but have scoured the threads for some time. After initially securing a Boxster GTS 4.0 allocation I was fortunate enough to be offered a 992 T allocation at MSRP and after much deliberation decided to go with the T! Freeze date is April 21st with delivery July 8th. Very excited about it. Got a stripper build in IGM, MT, big gas tank and added in back seats for the kid. Only things I'm on the fence about are RAS and the cheaper standard lizard green interior. I've gone through way too many threads, videos and pics on both RAS and the interior choices but it hasn't made it any easier. The T would be a half daily half weekend canyon carver and not sure if RAS worth it in this situation. Don't anticipate taking it to the track tbh since lots of good roads nearby. Regarding the interior, I worry I might get over the bright green after a honeymoon period but hard to say cause it does look great in pics. Maybe just some colored seat belts and dials would satisfy. Appreciate any input!
My car was scheduled to complete production on April 4, but was pushed back to April 22 now. I wonder if that delay is due to windshield glass availability. I just hope they fix the issue so it doesn't keep cracking! There seem to be very few common problems with the 992, but the glass issue could be one of the headaches to deal with.
Totally unrelated to the LWG as it is known that the issue was allegedly rectified in production in November 2023.

Welcome and you come to the right place for advise. Mine is do as you and only you think best. You’ve read all the reviews & posts and others’ opinions.
Now for fun stuff. If not a track focused T, then add a few things to make your experience a pleasured one.
PDK, it’s perfection and faster.
RAS, corners are more planted at faster speeds.
Surround View, baby has wide hips and needs to be taken care of.
Back Seats, more of a finished look. Kid friendly.
Base radio with HD programming & sound adjustments is fine, save the cash. Unless you go Burmester.
Extended fuel tank adds weight, unless you live in an area where gas stations are far away.
Lizard green pin. 🫣
Decal and aerokit? 🤔
The T no matter his you spec it is a special variant, very few to none in my overly wealthy area, they prefer gt3s but we will be in a better place! 👍

Like the build. Looks like similar $ spent on options like mine and you’re within the 2% added weight rule. My T resides close to mountain roads. Never felt the need for RAS and don’t want it messing with my desire to get a little sideways on occasion (if that matters to u). Since you were also looking at something smaller (Boxster)…I did also with GT4, I’ll add this. Some complain about 992 being too big, but it’s all relative and feels like go cart to me. They made a lot of improvements to the 992. It has more direct steering ratio and a stiffer steering torsion bar. Overall, improved feel and feedback. Lighter body using more aluminum. They also increased its driving stability and transfer stiffness. Things like this impact it’s overall driving dynamics. For comparison, I’ve driven G-series, 964, 993, 997, 991, Boxsters and Caymans including GT4. 992 T is best choice…..best believe. Finally, don’t be 2 concerned with all the glass stuff. Experiences vary. I have a 400 watt sub often blasting against the rear glass shaking it. 😆

Congrats! Digging your minimalist build. Not to sure if green interior highlights would work well against the bluish undertones of IGM. If no plans for tracking, skip RAS. You might also consider adding a set of Exclusive design wheels, these are the only available forged option, weigh less (not sure of the exact weight savings) and will be easier to clean.

I believe they are 4 lbs lighter each. 16 lbs of unsprung weight 👍
I also say skip the RAS unless you are tracking. Just adds weight and possible problems down the road. Oh, and sometimes I like to steer with the gas pedal. 😎
Finally got around to trying my DIY shark fin using trakwrap on top of the PPF. Thought it turned out okay for a hack like me. Just used a slip solution which seemed to tack appropriately when enough squeegy was done
Btw, might have a set of black shark fins for sale
Might also notice the tommy garage mudflaps. Basically dakar!

I was strongly considering IGM but ultimately decided against it for two reasons;
1) It looks very close to white. Didn't seem different enough to justify $3200. I compared it in person next to white in sunlight and even had to double check myself to be sure it was IGM. It is pretty and varies some in different lighting but not sure it is worth the extra $.
2) IGM does have a slight blue hue undertone and I thought it might clash with the green T interior trim. Somewhere in this thread are some pics of IGM with green T interior and the pics look pretty good, so maybe this is not a concern. Just something to consider.
Here it is under indoor lighting. Hard to capture the subtle hues in pics.
I did not chose RAS, in favor of simpler, lighter, and less cost. Just depends on what you want from the car.
"When equipped with the optional active rear-axle steering, the 911 Carrera benefits from the excellent cornering dynamics of the 911 Turbo and the 911 GT3. The 911 shows significant improvements in agility in tight bends, stability in high-speed lane changes and manoeuvrability in city traffic. If the driver turns into a bend at speeds under 50 km/h, the front and rear wheels turn in opposite directions. This leads to what is known as virtual wheelbase shortening. The sports car can be guided through the bend effortlessly with smaller steering wheel inputs. The 911 with rear-axle steering feels like a compact car when manoeuvring. Its turning circle is reduced by 0.4 metre to 10.8 metres. The approach is different for fast lane-changes at high speed. Starting at around 80 km/h, the front and rear wheels are turned in the same direction, giving the feeling that the sports car has a longer wheelbase. For the driver this means greater stability and more spontaneous and harmonious initiation of a change in direction due to the faster build-up of lateral forces at the rear axle."
