Exactly same boat here. No ADM and low spec were essential to my bottom line. I was turned down by a couple dealerships till I got a text from my local that they would fulfill my requests. Best day of the year when I got the text.

The clamps that come directly from Porsche Seem like they might be too large to keep the plastic battery compartment cover in place, unless I'm missing something?

I don’t have a Porsche branded charger but should work similarly. I decided to connect my tender using a cable adapter with eyelet terminals (instead of clamps). Wanted easy connect/disconnect without ever having to open frunk. Only have one photo from car on phone and just stock eyelet cable photo. In Manhattan and away from T presently. But maybe others here done similar already with more pics…if necessary?

I use the ctek charger. Once you open the battery cover it's pretty easy to figure out. Place the clamps on fairly flat and the cover won't touch them. I route the cable out through a small trim gap, near the passenger side of the windshield, and it hangs down the passenger side of the car. No issues closing the frunk and locking. FYI I did have to pull the positive and negative clamp wires a bit apart, so they would stretch across to reach each terminal under the batter cover.

Thank you! I have seen a lot of this type of direct connect solution and agree that makes a lot of sense. Since I already bought the clamp style, figured I would give it a shot/take advice from anyone on here that bought the Porsche Branded solution as well. If clamps prove to not work well will switch to this...

Awesome thank you... Helpful to know that the clamps will fit under the plastic trim cover without issue... I'm sure I was overthinking it, but I was afraid if there was contact there might be melting or fire risk etc... but sounds like shouldn't be a problem.... I just took a walk out to the car and I see a gap on both passenger and driver side. Looks like I could route up next to the Washer filler cap area on driver side too since the garage wall plug is right at that corner of the car...

Despite the recent tech layoffs, the amount of tech money is keeping many dealers oversubscribed. Yes ADMs are smaller than before but they still exist. Everyone would love to pay at MSRP, folks aren’t paying higher because they lack common sense or have too much money to throw around.

Hopefully the market in CA gets to MSRP in the near future.
Even in California, the ADM situation depends on which dealer you're working with. I paid MSRP.

I’ve seen on RL folks get very philosophical about how it should be done. What one has to realize is that the US is made up of many markets with each region facing its own set of challenges and advantages. Note that 1.1M households in California are millionaires (source).

Are you sure about those stats? I thought California was a rich state?!
1.1m households (out of 37m) are millionaires doesn’t sound right.
London has 1m millionaire households out of 10m.

California is not a "rich" state. California has several concentrated pockets of wealth, but the state as a whole is rather agriculture based and the vast majority of the population lives outside of the aforementioned pockets.

Your 10% of London households statistic sounds suspect to me...even if we consider there are many ways to set the standard of what is a millionaire.

California is not a "rich" state but really no state in the US is, however, California does have large concentration of millionaires per capita and is Porsche 5th largest market in the world (if it were a country). To the OP's original point....yes, the Porsche market varies across the US and the greedy dealerships in California are still charging ADMs because the demand is still there.

The stats are readily available - feel free to check them out. One in ten London homes is worth more than £1m.
£1m = $1.26m so if you use $$’s it’s even more than one in ten.
China is world’s biggest market for Porsches, followed by USA and Germany. UK is 4th biggest with a population somewhat smaller than China and USA😄

So because of all the RAS discussion I decided to ask Pivot and Uhu to come to Apeldoorn so we could make a comparison of all three cars and settle this discussion once and for all.

Of course they both agreed and took the drive to the Netherlands.

I drove Uhus car with RAS and was much much quicker in the corners. Uhu drove my car without RAS but he immediately missed the synthetic feel his car had. Pivot drove his own car because he was busy finally making pictures of it, but we lost him somewhere cause his car without RAS wasn’t able to make a proper U-turn and we never saw him back again…

Turns out we were all right
