I suppose I can consider myself fairly fortunate that I do not like to ride with the windows down or even with the sunroof opened (did not order it on my T) as my allergies are bad enough plus, I do not want all the airborne contaminants within the interior of my cars either. I recently sold one of my BMWs that was six years old with less than 10,000 miles, the interior smelled brand new given that the windows or sunroof had never been opened at length.

It was bad enough for me, even with both windows open, that I installed the AWE foiler.

Participating in HPDE events at the Glen, the local rule is windows down. I installed the AWE air foilers before going and hitting 130 with windows down buffeting is not noticeable. There's no loss in my mind, in the looks dept.

If they'd done it right, a servo would operate a flap that extends at speeds > 30 mph when the windows are open. Or opening the windows would extend it. Something like that.
I can’t believe we didn’t hear much of it till now over all the YouTube Videos out there. Is this a recent thing on 992s?

No, not at all… A well known issue.

I’ve seen lots of video over the past 6 months since I place my order. Not a peep on YT. Oh well, our 4wdr suv does the same if back windows are open. As for the 992, is it a window position thing or always if just open. If the latter, I’m a big fan of open windows, have to see if a suitable solution that is not an eye sore is available. I’m not hopeful!

Yes ‘the YouTube’ is the end all reliable source for everything Porsche. Surprise! It’s a non issue to anyone not striving for likes and subscribes.

Drivel?

Porsche has a presence on YouTube. Included a Small group called, “Porsche Club of America” being one of them. Heard of them? Guess not. Something called “Porsche” too. Huh, go figure? WWW.youtube.com/Porsche, over 500 million views. It’s their own website.

I’ve
seen interviews with the heads of Porsche within YouTube posts, speaking about new models coming out.. so you don’t know what you’re missing but that’s fine because you’re all set with your own personal thoughts and opinions and that’s gonna be it. Good luck with that.

The AWE wind foils are a must have in my opinion, I too was blown away (no pun intended) when I first drove the 992 with the windows down. It's down right unbearable. The AWE foils aren't really that noticeable and look like they came on the car and boy do they make a big difference!

I knew about it last April/May when I submitted my allocation request.

Is it always noisy or at certain window levels?

I had read about it before my car arrived and figured it wouldn't be that bad. But I found it pretty intolerable mostly in the 35-55 mph range. I fiddled with different window heights, etc and really couldn't find anything that solved it completely...until I added the AWE parts. Problem solved and so easy to install.

I’ll check the site. Do you have that part number handy?
ok, found it, it’s on sale for $5. I’m all over it! 👍
