Therefore, in essence, the front axle lift system is protecting mostly the underside of the front bumper lip, which is a $350 black plastic part and is easily replaceable.

Meanwhile, if the front axle lift breaks down after the warranty period, it can be a $10K bill to repair the unit ($7K in parts, $3K in labor), if the entire FAL system needs replacement.

Thanks for the clarification.

More importantly, it’s weight on a sports car. You should minimize the weight of your 911 where possible.

I agree, especially with the T's intended purposes.

I heard the axle lift system is a $7K+ part, which will cost $10K to fix, if the electro hydraulic system breaks after warranty. Personally, I'm not sure what this axle lift is protecting mechanically, other than the lower black plastic bumper lip. After all, 911 has engine components and tranny casing in the mid-rear.
Any counterpoints?
I have it. I only use it in about 3 locations that have savage speed bumps.
Would I get it again? Probably not.
What I've found is that going slowly over even savage speed bumps is possible if you attack them at an angle at 20mph ish.
With FAL I can go over them around 30mph.
It will mean that occasionally some impatient guy behind you in a 'normal' car gets annoyed about how slowly you're going, but that's it.
Anyway, that at least is my experience, others may beg to differ??

I've it and the first day I scraped the front lip for non activating it, my error, I acted as a SUV owner.
You should not need it on normal driving conditions such as speed bumps, etc, and when You can negotiate the access to parking lots.
However where I live some garages have a strict entry so you can't angle. Also some parkings have an easy entry but a more complex internal structure and exit with extremely steep slopes and that's the worst case scenario.
In this scenario the 4cm lift does not mean scraping or not, you can detach the whole front lip or can be trapped because you don't know if you'll be able to pass or not.
As long as You can avoid these places You can totally skip it. My sales assistant told me "How can you park, for example, in Venice without it?". I simply ticked the flag for piece of mind and for
reselling value. I would not do again, I would simply avoid risky parking lots

BTW, my 991 had the buffeting issue too, it's not a new phenomenon, but as addressed above, it's an easy fix.

My 2018 f80 not so much but I can heardly remember having windows down, if I had it was only my drivers side and don’t really remember an issue.

I was recently notified that I will receive my allocation in March. Is there any info on the power steering plus option and whether or not "T" owners opt for it? Why or why not?

Just got my allocation for T at msrp right before Christmas. ETAs: Change Freeze Point in Feb, end of production in April and delivery in June. Now the wait starts!
Is this going to be the last batch of 2024 T?

If you are too weak to turn the steering wheel, get it. If you can curl >5 lbs, save the $230. IIRC it's just an electronic change with no additional weight or anything like that, but most of us don't need it to feel like a Bentley in the parking lot.
