@Uhu when I started my search about a year and a half ago, it was between the GT4 and the T (then 991). I’ve read a lot on both cars and I am now convinced the 992T is at least on par but likely better on track than the GT4. I feel the same regarding my 7.2 GT3 which at this point is different to the RS only in aero, track width and gear ratios. This car is simply amazing at this price point and with a $2,500 tune, it’s at GTS power but lighter and with smaller and more responsive turbos. The only other 911 I’d rather have is the GT3T or ST.

A perfectly driven GT4, on Cup2, can mean trouble on the track. The T leans and is a little too soft. Drove a Carrera S with RAS and PDCC and despite now being "hard enough", the PDCC clever variable roll bars made the car a little heavier to rotate. Didn't like it in the end.
The GT4 is missing the nice low down torque of the T, which pulls away out of slower corners (proved it at Zandvoort).

I wouldn't say no to a nice 997.2 GT3 RS, fun car and track car in one

Gosh I'm so keen to see what the model variants, and options are for the 992.2. I love my T and it's likely a keeper, but I'm super curious about what we'll learn about the .2.

No doubt. Both GT cars are proper track cars. But what makes the T lean is also what makes it a great road car, something neither the 7GT3 or the GT4s are. Despite the suspension drawbacks and tires being equal, I'm betting the T still has the edge. Not just because of the torque but because of better gearing too. Tall gearing + low torque means you're often in the wrong gear. My 7GT3 is better than the GT4 but it too suffers from slightly long gearing.

The GT3 is sublime at the track but terrible on uneven roads. Not fun at all unless you have access to perfect roads, which I don't.

See the attached picture where it really stands out when I pull into the parking garage at work (humidity and lighting?). I've used clean microfibre towels, starting with an isopropyl alcohol mix, finishing with invisible glass cleaner. Ignore the bugs etc on the outside. The whole car needs a clean right now. Also don't get me started on the rear brake dust!
Just catching up on posts and found this. My glass is driving me nuts! Clean it and within a week or so looks terrible again, and like you can see the lines of where it was picked up in manufacturing. I’ve had a detailer polish the inside, but made no difference. Has anyone reported this to Porsche?

After reading the Autocar road test a few observations. Its best to totally ignore all the standing start acceleration figures as they were all done in WET Mode and in heavy rain. The in-gear figures are much more representive and I thought they were quite impressive even in the tall 7th gear. The fuel economy figures were extremely impressive considering the performance which shows how efficient the enging is and another benefit of driving a light car by modern standards.
Which leads me to the other impressive statistic which is the actual weight of the 992T as weighed by Autocar themselves. They weighed it at 1456kg(official 1470) which is less than the official Porsche figure which is unheard of in Autocar tests. Also bear in mind that the test car was far from being in its lightest possible configuration with its RAS, BOSE, Matrix lights, Surround view etc adding about 25-30kg, which makes the reallife weight of a 992T without these options about 1430kg or lighter than the 992GT3 they tested and weighed !.
I have a 992T Manual arriving in October in Gentian blue and similar spec to the test car albeit sans all the four above mentioned options. I already have a GT4 RS and I can't think of a better complementary Porsche than a lightweight Manual 992T. Really looking forward to it much more than I was even a couple of months ago !

I will third this. I tried a variety of cleaning products but this subtle haze would return in certain locations and I could see outlines of suction cups or tape from manufacturing. My original windshield cracked and the whole thing got replaced and the new one doesn’t have this issue. It seems perfectly clean. Not sure how to explain it all.

@Barkat03 & @Uhu Thanks for sharing. I liked some of the detailed specs they display like 332 torque at 2K rpm and max speed for each gear. I found this comment amusing >> “A lighter always-noisy performance exhaust might have some extra oomph…”

@Uhu The first time I drove the Autobhan it was a bit unsettling. Going fast was fun, but I had to watch for unpredictable slow moving traffic ahead. That said, can’t wait for the next time to get on it again. In the future, take a video of u going for that 310 kph mark. I for one would like to see it! And be sure to be wearing that outfit in ur pic for good luck!

@Taffy 66 Did anyone else notice the key piece in the Autocar road test? It seems the UK base price has risen by £2,070.00 to £107,700! Though the Porsche UK configurator is still showing £105,700. The extras added to the car however appear to be at the current configurator prices.

I hope it's an error, as I have missed my first car and will feel unfairly penalised if my second allocation is affected by this.
If not then one can assume Porsche world wide are increasing prices by almost another 2% after a 7.31% increase in April/May.
Over here we call it milking !!! the customer. or maybe it's just Porsche's ADM?
I have queried this with my OPC.

Sort of makes you wonder if Porsche might over report the T weight to protect the image of the GT cars. Either way, I'd love to have one of each, please.

This'll happen with any new car, but I wonder if some options might see it more than others. Do you have the full leather or just plastic dash and doors? Leather or alcantara? I won't see my car until October, but it was built in May; maybe it'll have fully outgassed by then. I do worry a little that I'll get to it and it'll have the lightweight glass broken, so who knows.
