Just got back from my first early morning run. Two hours and a half of pure joy. I love this car...

After all we on this forum are only a small percentage of the total 992 T ownership.
How many other T owners have had this occur?
If Porsche are made to fork out for the replacements perhaps they’ll get it right on the 992.2
The thing is, it’s really hard to make the case of a defective windshield if the damage looks to be impact related. Particularly since the warranty will not cover impact damage. I’ve been through this with MINI 20 years ago. They refused to accept that any crack that didn’t stretch to the edge of the windshield wasn’t caused by an impact, and there was an acknowledged manufacturing defect, there were issues with burrs in the windshield frame causing cracking.

I think it’s pretty clear that the lightweight glass is more fragile than the regular stuff. But, I think the only way that Porsche stops using it is if folks who have a choice don’t option it on their builds. Hell, if I had a choice, I wouldn’t have selected it.

Greetings everyone. This is my first post on the 911 Carrera T forum. I placed a demand order for a Carrera T last week. My SA says that I am next in line for an allocation, and I am thrilled. Let the waiting begin.

After a one week COVID related delay…I finally picked up my GT Silver T yesterday. It’s a bit dirty on exterior is it was off to detailer last night but had time to put on 100 miles yesterday.

Full review and more photos (after it’s cleaned up) to come but my initial impression is this will be forever car just as I hoped. After 15 years of not driving a MT yesterday was spent mostly getting used to rowing gears again…a lot of practice to go but that’s what driving is for!

Any other T owners in Sierra Nevada region (Lake Tahoe) here on RL interested in meetup. I’m 2nd T at my dealership so there is at least one more of us out there.

How were you able to tolerate looking at the windshield crack for 2.5 hours? I think that'd drive me crazy. Between the lithium battery and lightweight glass issues ppl are having with the T, I feel like I should get back on the S wait list.

Although the video author claims he doesn't have lightweight glass for the windshield - according to him the 991.2T only had that on the rear.

@TUD, do you have global production numbers?

The Total911 magazine has a number of 5000 units of 991 T’s , which is hard to believe.

I live in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The roads are the worst and best. Leaving my neighborhood you either go right toward town or left away from town. Right is an impossibility for any 911 except a Dakar. Cobble stone, pot holes, uneven roads, speed bumps. That's what the Macan is for. To the left, I have a variety of awesome roads. The one I drove today is a new stretch of toll road that drives like a tropical Nurburgring with the ocean on one side and beautiful lush tropical jungle-filled hills on the other. There are some straights but it's mostly twisty, cambered sections, some lower speed and some high speed. On the way back, I exited the toll road and got on to the free one lane road which was repaved last year. That has nearly no straightaways making it difficult to pass but with no cars in front, it's twisty and amazing covered in jungle. I bought the T mostly to drive these roads early in the morning before traffic starts. It feels like my own personal track when it's empty. I got a couple of GoPros and I'm going to start filming my drives.

I noticed it when I got in the car and then forgot about it. My drives are not really leisurely unless I hit traffic. Today I hit 292km/h or 181MPH on a straight and around 200km/h or 124MPH on some fast sweepers. Needless to say, my mind was elsewhere. As for the S, the T is the only Carrera I would ever own. There is no perfect car, and I'm ok with the glass issue as unfortunate as it is. It is what it is. Just gotta get it fixed.

Have any of us done exhaust and valve controller, or exhaust and tune w/open valves? Just curious. I had the valve controller on my S which was nice, but thinking I may take that a step further with the T and add an Akro or perhaps the new BBI exhaust.

Thank you. Is there an official communication saying there is no 992.2 T? Just want to know if I should rush and try to get an allocation.

Attention 9/9 T Meet participants:
I have below as 100% for sure showing up for it. I’m going to be ordering T-shirts soon using T-meet graphics provided by Tourenwagen. Let me know now (order needs to go in soon) if not on list and 100% attending. They’re going to be simple shirts (nothing fancy) but hopefully a momentous item with 9/9/23 date on it, etc. For those listed, please respond with desired T-shirt size. Likely cotton shirts so recommend ordering one size up.
