I suspect that I might be one of the few that has a spec over $178k.

Extremes on both ends are great 😉

Yep, for sure LCA is not needed. Most of us grew up without any helpers whatsoever. That said, since he speced surround view feels like LCA may be something he'd find valuable.

I definitely would have gotten buckets if I didn't need rear seats for the kiddos. They dramatically change the feel of the car. I guess it just depends on how limber you are and what shape you are.

Never tried RAS. Very happy without it. Car feels awesome!
I love the looks of the buckets but worry they take away too much practicality. I'm planning to test drive a C4S with buckets and RAS this weekend mainly to get a sense of the buckets.

I like the T unique wheels, but the ED wheels do look good also. And I like that they are forged wheels and lighter. I'll consider those. As to surround view, I've had it on the last 4 or 5 vehicles I've owned and just take it for granted. I find it useful in tight parking spots. I can't imagine a car this expensive not having it. Just one of those things. Really should be standard IMO.

For now, I live across the fairway.

1. Skip. Love the green but Lizard can be too "in your face". Stitching, seat inserts and mats are cool. Not a fan of the belts or dials myself.
2. Skip. I optioned them but my car is for weekend use. For daily or semi daily, 4 ways are outstanding.
3. Skip. Unless you're tracking the car, it takes away from the 911 experience, IMO of course.

Looking good! And you just saved $9k. Congratulations.
Sounds like I'm good with the build as is. I'll take the test drive in the C4S with buckets and unless I find them easy enough to get in and out, and super comfortable, I'll stick with the 4-ways.

Devon Racer.
Thanks, I'll stick with no-RAS - keep it traditional!

You may also want to consider LCA. I can't imaging having a car without it (Porsche should make it standard IMHO).

RAS has been discussed a lot and I recommend you read all those posts. After reading those and driving a RAS vehicle I opted to pass since I personally didn't see the value.

I recommend you try the carbon bucket seats. They are great, but for a car you drive frequently getting into and out of them might get old.
Thanks, I have surround view selected but not LCA. I don't think I need the LCA as I really don't use it much on cars I've had with it. Agree it should be standard on a car this expensive. I understand Porsche is trying to make it bespoke and make themselves more money, but in a way it cheapens the car when common, basic, de facto standard safety options like LCA are $1k+. I am going to test drive a car with buckets and will see how they do - ease of entry and exit may be the deal maker/breaker.

Agree, LCA should be standard but I'm willing to go without it.

All said its a great car that is balanced as could be. Think of it as Miata on steroids. Just so incredibly balanced and a perfect car to enjoy on the street, or track if thats your choice. I have driven all the other 992 variants, including GT3 on the street and track. In the end a few extra HP is cool, but it does nothing for the total package unless you are an exceptional driver on track or enjoy stoplight drag races. The T is a very sweet spot.
Thanks that's good to know on the seats. Makes me feel better with the 4-ways. I do not have RAS , FAL, or back seats, keeping it simple! I will consider the ED wheels - seems like they are popular with GT silver. .

Also, a shout out to @Scott P as inspiration for the silver/green T build, with interior trim in exterior color. Looks sharp and a unique combination, especially given the now more limited color palette.

As I’ve been waiting patiently over at the “Port that keeps my T hostage” site, I came across this to pass the time….

I think my outside air thermometer is also not very accurate.
I thought I was the only one experiencing this, I have exactly the same on my 992 GTS

missing the large fuel tank highly recommended for such a small increase

That's what I though coming from 996's. I'd actually check the LCA options if I had to do it again because the blind spots are MUCH larger than older 911's that I've own. The C-pillars are thicker, and the belt-line is higher than older 911's. It's the only option I wish I checked, but now I just speed up then switch lanes which is easy.

Bucket seats weren't available at the time of my configuration but I got in and out of a GT4 with one and it was a PITA. Literally...I mean you'll experience it on the test drive. On egress, you can't pivot your hips out, you have to lift your hips up off the seat then egress. Try getting in-n-out when the door opened half way as if someone parked close to you.

If I had bucket, I'd rather hop in my E38 for quick drives thus leaving the 911 for only long drives without a passenger. I'd hate for the 992 to be a garage queen. The standard seats makes the car usable on a daily basis.

I don't need it, I have good cheap gas station conveniently located near my home & for roadtrip I don't remember I crave for a bigger tank, 17gal is decent enough for me, and it helps save a bit weight.

I was at $137K but thought black in the end didn't show the details of the car, so I switch to ice grey. Now at $140.5K with carbon roof and RAS. I like hanging out at gas stations, so I didn't check the large fuel tank. ;-)

Been btw a .2 gt3 (again), gt4 (again), or doing a T: yesterday finally made the call after driving a 992 gts in 7sp to do a T with a July lock date. I look forward to reading the 1571 pages of 992 T notes over the next few months.
