Needs a 991 in the foreground and a G body then longhood between 964 and 356!

That and things like analog gauges. The 992 is a different beast. During the drive I observed the headlight humps and thought to myself "man, this car is so much bigger than my old cars..." The older cars feel like an extension of your arm. There is no nonsense stuff in the cabin. They have only what you need and nothing more and driving them feels like moving an extension of your limbs. But the 992 is not a grand tourer despite its size. It's very agile and you can feel the DNA. It's just bigger and has more bling, though not mine because I built it as a stripper.
Where did you put the pole?
All kidding aside, I know what you mean about being inside the air-cooled era cars. Intimate is a good way to describe it. EVERYTHING is reachable in the cabin. If you have a passenger, you sit very close to them. The magic is it does NOT feel like it lacks room, quite the opposite. The 996 and 997 still have some of that feel inside, but definitely not all. It's the one thing I notice most on my 991 T after 16 years of 993 ownership.

Oh yeah, analog gauges! Another point for the Cayman. Frankly I prefer that entire interior. And both cars have very modestly optioned interiors.
I owned a 1999 996. The size is nearly identical to the Cayman. I liked the size, liked the car overall, but did not like how light the front end and steering was. Plus, it was a bit of a money pit. I suspect you're right in that a 997 might feel good, except for the light front end, which the 992 has managed to balance out nicely. BTW, the 911 has a 1" shorter wheelbase vs the 718, which probably helps it drive smaller than it's size might otherwise indicate, plus I have RAS.
Like I said, I love the 992, and some of the things I'm less loving about it are subjective, like size and seats (the 718 4-ways fit me like a glove whereas the 992 4-ways are a tad roomy for my skinny back).
But walking into the garage and seeing that fat, green winged butt is just sexy as hell.

Almost there. This is the budget version.

It's good and bad on the 992. I like the nod to the old cars with the design of the dash. I like that it's roomy and at the same time I miss the intimacy.

I didn't know it was shorter than the Cayman. Interesting.
I've never spent enough time in the 996 to opine on it but that was the first big stretch for the 911.
We're very lucky that we can have more than one toy.
Super interesting. I lol'd at Passenger Volume differences.

Can you share the Wheel details? Did I miss this, maybe you already did.
Wheels are designed and custom made for me. Only set in the world. Color is the silver in the E46 M3 CSL which is one of the nicest silvers I've ever seen on a wheel. I originally got them in an Agate-like gray thinking I would keep the T elements then changed my mind and got them painted.
I wanted double five spoke because they are the lightest/strongest wheel design and because they look the best on 992s IMO. I love the GT3 wheel.
8.5x20 ET38 22lbs
11.5x21 ET57 25lbs
I kept stock sizes to fit the N-rated tires for Carrera. I thought of going GT3 sizing but I don't want to run Cup2 or F1 on this car.
The original post will shortly be updated with this, so it's not buried on page 1021!
UPDATED! Delivery info and 2023 review below
Delivery day has come and gone, 924 days and 15,000+ posts since I started this thread on January 1, 2021. Instead of pictures, my incredible Porsche Brand Ambassador, Alexander de Pooter, has made a stunning video showing my final spec:
One word summary of what I am about to write: Superb
Yes, the wait was long, perhaps even agonizing. Before I even started this thread, I had reached out to every dealership that I had a relationship with, or had interacted with at some point in the past (this is my 4th Porsche). In fact, I even left a deposit at another Porsche dealer, whose name shall be withheld. Everyone placed me on that "list", with varying estimates as, of course, the car hadn't even been announced yet! However... this is my second Porsche from Porsche West Palm Beach, and the treatment from them was world class.
Almost exactly on New Years 2023, Alexander contacted me to let me know I had an allocation, and it was now time to design and spec my dream. Below, I have the original post from 2021, and you can see that I adhered very closely to my original concept. I did end up adding 18-Way seats and Guards Red seatbelts, as Bose was not available, nor the Premium Package
Mind you, NO deposit was requested by Porsche WPB until this allocation, which is how I much prefer to do business. As I mentioned before, I'm not new to the Porsche world, but the genuineness, attention and respect that Alexander showed throughout was incredible. There's a reason I have mentioned his name and even linked his email above, he deserves every bit of business that we can send his way. I'll give a brief example: That dealer has two "delivery bays", and whilst my 992T was parked there and he was giving me his undivided attention, 4 other cars were delivered in the other bays. Not to speak poorly of the other BAs, but that was basically a smile and a handshake! I'm fairly young and quite experienced with technology, but I really appreciated the time he took to explain some of the more esoteric options buried in the PCM (which is quite good, by the way!).
In short, I love my Carrera T - it was worth every minute of waiting, and I've already done about 150 miles in less than 24 hours, with more to come (for reference, my 991.1 was traded in with 105k miles!). Obviously, Bose had a stop sale, but with the windows closed it's not a horrendous sound system. This will be my keeper and daily driver, at some point I'll add back a Panamera 4S to my garage but this maximizes ALL the smiles per mile!
If you want the wheel center caps that most closely match the Titanium Gray color of the 911 T wheels, as shown in the video, then use the 991.1 Carrera Classic center caps from your favorite Porsche parts vendor.

Gorgeous. Got a profile pic?
How much do the stock base rims weigh?

I watched it last night on YouTube and wondered if that car was belonging to one of the members of this great forum and here you go!
I really like Alexander’s videos, congrats!
@Wilder@reloader-1 Away from RList traveling a bit. Came back to see 2 new black 911 pics. Wasn’t sure if I was on the right T page at first because your Ts lacked the side decal.
Congrats to the 2 of u! Both Black Ts look really great! Would be boring to see here if all our Black Ts looked the same. I was going to stop posting pics of my T here with new black ones arriving, but I may need to continue occasionally since my T has the side decal. Since I mentioned it so much, I think folks here know how much I LUV the grey mirror, rims & decal combo. Well, glad u both at least got the proper T emblem…ummm…we know who still needs to fix that, ha.
Edit: Speaking of pics. I love seeing my T on building glass reflections. Cant be the only one. Took this one recently. Zoomed in later to find guy walking his dog staring. When I ordered the T, I didn’t think I’d get that much attention with the black color selection. It’s sometimes overwhelming. I’m pretty sure its mainly due to the beautiful 992 design!
Thanks @ECNJ. Like people, it's what's inside that matters most.
My original build had decal and emblem delete with black wheels (for resale). I really wanted to like the Agate accents so I changed my build and put everything back on. I love Agate on other colors, especially Gentian, but it didn't work for me on the black car. I'm very happy with the way my car looks now. Just removing the stripe like @reloader-1 did looks much better to my eye.
