A lot of you-tube, autogestpot and viewing physical cars over the last couple of months (ordered May).

Yes, you can have the car airshipped. Just costs a premium over normal sea freight.

Its the 3D view on the standard configurator, you just need to use IE11 and an older version of the unity player.

As promised, here are a few picture of my 992. Initial observations are that it is a great car but completely different to the 991 or earlier cars and should be measured on its own merits. Before delivery I was worried about the nubbin and the interior but it all works really well together and to be honest you just don't notice. The biggest regret I have is not ordering RAS as this is a big car and you can tell when you drive it. The Hendricks guys in Charlotte were awesome as usual and did an outstanding job getting it wrapped, prepped and delivered. Overall i am very happy with how it turned out. For everyone who ordered one, you made the right choice and it's worth the wait

Mechanically though, it’s basically the same as the 991. Assuming by completely new you mean interior/proportions wise. Honestly, it’s the first time the car has reached GT status in stature. Previous models always felt small inside; like a kit car. This has perfect proportions.

It's interesting, the car size, stance, interior, driving characteristics and noise is completely different. Having owned a number of 991's (both normal and GT cars) it really does feel different to me. I agree though, this is a real grand touring car which i think is the plan with more differentiation between the carrera and GT cars going forward

you will love it, all the pre release complaints are blown out of proportion except the black piano center console which gets dirty if you look at it. As i said before, my only regret is the lack of RAS

Too soon to really tell, i have only put 300 miles on it but it feels more refined and more like a grand tourer then a sports car. It is definitely planted on the road but the lack of RAS makes it feel less nimble than ever my Panamera Turbo that has RAS. The extra gearing is interesting and seems to keep the revs down unless you manually change gears but it is better in sports plus mode but a little jumpy. I will say the noise is far better then the 991.2 to my ears and the Bose system is way better. Overall i think porsche did a good job on this one given that the NA cars are dead outside of the GT cars

Really pleased reading your feedback. If what you’re describing is what I feel as well, this car is exactly what I was looking forward compared to previous 911s. I support the evolution...a more smooth, refined sports car is what I need.

I'm with you on the evolution. Not sure why so many are against the 911 getting somewhat bigger. But in todays day & age; to compete with other brands, you have to incorporate the tech & comfort all the other sports car manufacturers are bringing to the table. IMO, if the 911 consistently improves in performance year after year, while getting slightly larger, then I'm all for it.

Delivery confirmed for Tuesday! Luckily my car isn’t affected by the battery recall. My SA sent me a few pictures.
