ADM will come down but there will be more flippers. The ADM profit will not just vanish as it is driven by demand. The profit will just just go to the hands of the first owners. I am not sure if it is better or worse.

Porsche could have MSRP'd the ST at 400K and the line would be out the door. Myself included. I've owned (own) other exotic brands and still grab the keys to my Porsche's the most. I think the ST is the most exciting car to launch since 991R. My opinion of course. I'll be going PTS as well if the opportunity to spec one becomes available. Anxious to see it at Rennsport here in several weeks.
A car like the 918 can command a very high price because it's unique and clearly a lot of R&D went into it. The 911 ST is derived from the base 911 (as are all 911 cars) with more or less the same 4.0 L engine as other GT cars, some mods to drop some weight, and tuning to make the car feel more lively on the road (and less capable on the track).

I agree that base car is already pushing it (really far) if Porsche doesn't want to appear to be after a money grab, but they could do what Lambo is doing and if you want an AdP car (same as Porsche Exclusive) you need to spend minimum $100k on options on a Sterrato or $150k on a Revuelto. Margins there in options are much better than the base car.

The meaningful increase in production is much more exciting over other limited cars. Glad to see Porsche is at least trying to meet more of the demand. 700 units to the US or somewhere around that number.

OK, thought I would post this as it has blown my mind. I currently am fortunate enough to own a beautiful 2022 GT3 Touring in PTS. I have been on the list with a deposit for the ST at the dealer I bought the GT3T from for a few months. The dealer got back to me a couple days ago with numbers for an ST allocation. No surprise, I would be required to trade in my PTS GT3T at a price that is currently 80-100K under market value. In addition I would be required to pay an ADM. When I put the numbers on paper, I couldn’t believe it. Here they are. I know what I think. What do you all think?
Lose minimum 80k on trade in of GT3 Touring
Pay ST sticker price 340k + 175k ADM + 44k tax/Lic
340 + 175 + 44 + 80 = $639,000 911 ST
I guess there is just a point where it isn’t even about the money. It’s about the fact that you are being ripped off. I don’t like getting ripped off. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth for a long time.

That $300k alone in dealer profit can net you a really really really nice car anywhere already.

I'm assuming those getting the S/T will spec it in the "Shore Blue" metallic color? I know I'm speculating, but just wondering if the resale value would be less if it wasn't in this color. I think it would look better in other colors or PTS colors.
Also once you select the heritage option, you're pretty much locked into interior options for that specific look.

It's not a sin to pay and I did it with eyes wide open but I'll be honest with you, it felt a bad taste in my mouth afterwards and I told myself I'd never do that again. I think I was a bit more impulsive back then because that's when my real estate business started taking off and I was making good money as head of accounting for Internet Brands at the same time so maybe the money was burning a whole in my pocket. But nowadays I think I value how hard I work for my money and want to use it to help my clients instead of feeding vampire stealers.
