Someone I know committed to 150k over for an ST allocation here in LA to get the dealers #1 slot.
If that helps get this back on topic...

Didn't ask all the details but sounds like the dealer told him he can have the first allocation for 150k over which he said yes to. This is a decent size dealer here in SoCal and he's a repeat client. Don't have any more info than that to share.

Given the ask for an initial gt3rs, Dakar, or Sport Classic that seems … too reasonable

I ask because it's easy to agree to any ADM with no real skin in the game, and then back out when the car arrives and the dealers is theoretically "stuck" with a car that a customer spec'd.

What I meant was did the dealer require a deposit of any kind? Even a fully refundable one?

Sounds like a$$ though but I’ve come to accept that.

I'm assuming those getting the S/T will spec it in the "Shore Blue" metallic color? I know I'm speculating, but just wondering if the resale value would be less if it wasn't in this color. I think it would look better in other colors or PTS colors.
Also once you select the heritage option, you're pretty much locked into interior options for that specific look.

Hmmm. If he’s a long time customer but not quite baller enough to be one tier below 918, then that seems plausible. Just extrapolating from the SC situation in Cali.

I think 150 adm could work and is about right. I like an early commitment to simply add an established amount on top of the Msrp. Now the next play if he is a good customer is what does he have to trade. Making his money on that side of the deal is only in his favor. Being a good customer means he has things of value perhaps that he has already paid for and they want back to sell again. It takes the 150 and allows for strong negotiations to bring it down to a more realistic number. He is in the driving seat now. When both parties win then a deal gets done in this market. Don,t kill me for that perspective it’s just one guys way to get her done.
