It's not a coincidence that they priced it at around what the current Touring market is hovering at.

I understand that that won't be the case once the ADMs start hitting the ST, but from Porsche's pov it's an easy call ... if these guys are willing to pay this much for a GT3 Touring we can at least charge that for an RS Touring.

The bargain of the last 10 years was on the 911R with 991 units at a msrp of 185k.

The 991 Speedster was the beginning of Porsche grabbing all the money on the table with a similar msrp compared to the 911 S/T at around 298k with 1750 units.

There will be many S/T with a MSRP north of 400k with PTS and special CXX requests.

Then throw a lithium battery in the car and a lighter exhaust and you basically have a similar weight.

The 991.2 Touring wasn't an R clone.

I could be wrong but I'd be surprised if Porsche didn't do something to make sure the ST is unique, even if it's a small thing they hold back on the 992.2 Touring. They tend to be mindful of such things.

Now matter how you spec a touring this will always be 70lbs lighter. What do you mean? Wheels, gears, no rws, carbon roof, doors, fenders, flywheel and battery.

You can’t throw a lithium in a 992. Not with RWS. Get a lighter exhaust for S/T (titanium) and you’re pretty much at 3000lbs. That’s insane for a modern car.

The Sport Classic is still a better driver's car and much more desirable across the board.

Significantly more special.

No, the real bargain was the 918, since it made you a VIP with MSRP privileges on all the special cars of the last 10 years (including the R and ST).

The Anti-Gravity Lithium batteries (11lbs) work fine with RWS cars, I've had one in both my 991.2 GT3 and my 991.2 GT3RS with no issues.

This is what I'm struggling with.

That's why I want to hear from reviewers with similar sensibilities to mine as to how special the ST total package is before I decide if I want to give up the SC for it.

Same, but they don’t work on 992’s

While I haven’t driven the ST yet, I seriously doubt the Sport Classic will be more desirable or a better driver’s car than the ST.

P.S I own a Sport Classic as well

You are paying so much money to buy such an understated normal car. And I bet touring will outperform this in a windy mountain road like smokies because of RWS. I drove a 911 without RWS once and it felt really old and not agile. Very different feel. I get the retro look and drive but $330,000? Lol
do you chose your cars based on what the public thinks
I had a 488 spider and the one thing that I disliked about it is the attention it gets from the public
according to your though process , we all should be driving a base 911 , and why bother with other variants
