A GT3 might not be worth $275 to you, but right now $275 is under market. My old 991.2 RS just sold for $270 in the pass week.

My 992 I have now, if I was offered $275 I would turn it down. To hard to replace and to long to wait.

yeah that is what people don’t mention when they brag they got one for MSRP. They have amnesia on telling people about the trade in beating or the 10 other crappy cars they also had to buy at MSRP. These dealers aren’t charity. They aren’t walking from $100k because you are a good guy or persistent. They are getting their money one way or the other.

I am also with the others, these are not a $275k “worth” car. If you want one and have the means great go spend your money, you earned it. There are better cars at $275k.

FWIW, I didn't get to the point where I felt comfortable spending six figures on a toy by paying more than I needed to, for anything. A bit of patience and this Stupid Money Car Market will pass. This isn't the first time this nonsense has happened and I'd imagine it will not be the last. I'd not pay when new, what I've been offered used for my current C2S. But go right ahead and twist my arm. You give me $50K over MSRP, you'll be an owner and I'll wait the market out.

There sure is a lot of stoopid $ being spent in CA. Why again are you suggesting that your financial where-with-all applies to others in the rest of the world?

Oh, for sure. Winged too. What always amazes me is the s*hitty specs that the dealers put together. Just a total waste of time and materials. Then the final 'bend over the barrel', is the dumb_*ss markup. Terrible.

I paid msrp for my car. I personally know 2 others who paid msrp for their cars.

Mine was the first Porsche I bought from my dealers. No trade in, no Adm, no games.

How? I built a relationship. Kept in touch. When anyone in my circle was thinking about buying a porsche, I referred them to my sales guy. A few bought some cars, most didnt.

Its possible to not overpay. If there had been an ADM, I’d have bought something else most likely. It’s a great car but is not a 300k car.

If you buy a car at MSRP and later they give you MSRP back in trade, and sell you the next car at MSRP, I think that’s fair.

But are there really any cars remotely worth more than the GT3 at this price point? Maybe an STO? Mind you im talking about for actual driving and track use, not C&C swag…

For what it’s worth, I was quoted $20K ADM on a 992 4S from two different dealerships. Good to know it’s not just the GT3 I suppose.

Nothing describes the current (i.e. delusional) state of some Rennlist 992 GT3 forum participants better than this statement. unless you're being sarcastic.

Agreed, that's what my dealer does. I don't mind allowing them to get more than MSRP when they sell the car that I traded back because I know the next GT will be at MSRP and worrying whether I'll get an allocation. Peace of mind is priceless.

What I'd love to know is where the demand for all these cars is coming from. I mean, there's a crap ton of people who now work from home so not like they need a car or even a second car. Did people's cars vanish during Covid?

Agree. Thats what I did. Especially since in my state they give salestax credit. That was a requirement for the tire kickers which they didn't want to cover.
