I read what people are paying for these GT cars and think tulip mania.

The 718 is going electric. The 992.2 apparently will have an all digital dash and I wouldn’t be surprised if it uses a mild hybrid system. I believe other ADAS devices are being mandated and another drop in max sound levels is also coming. We can only speculate what the 994 (or whatever it’s called) will be or look like.
So, a limited supply of a soon to be extinct commodity. Values will of course soften over time but I think these cars will always be desirable and demand a premium over list price.

There is a realization among enthusiasts that sports cars are becoming quieter, heavier and more digital. The 992 (and 718) series of GT cars might be ‘peak Porsche’ for those wanting a modern car with a high revving normally aspirated engine.

I'm really enjoying just sitting back with capital parked safely in a few banks making a risk free 4-5%. I'm in my mid 40's and have never experienced so much stress free earning. I'm normally moving in and out of real estate after adding value while trying to position myself to avoid catching the falling knife. These past 6 months have been the most stress free of my life. It feels nearly uncouth to say such a thing during times like this. I want an new RS but I'm not willing to pay the current ADM's. I'm sitting on the sidelines and am fine for now as I love my .2 RS and will just continue to enjoy putting tires on it and changing the oil. It's SO much fun. In the mean time, if and when a deal does present itself I'll be waiting and ready to sign papers but there is something to be said about reduction of stress in life.

most people in sports car/exotic world can’t stay on the sidelines without something for too long. I unfortunately fit in this scenario. However, when I’m in LA, there seems to be a lot of guys renting an apartment with sports cars in the garage. When those leases expire, I don’t see them doubling down. On the other hand, I know of a guy who bought a new dawn at 100over and traded it in for 100 under msrp. That’s quite a haircut!
