Colokent, be careful which advice you take, USC paid a massive ADM to get into the GT game and now hypocritically tells people not to do it.
If you really want to spec your own allocation and it's worth $10k to you, I would consider it. The alternative is you delaying/not getting a car and who knows where pricing will be at that point.

Live in a smaller market, and the local dealer (who I specced and bought a Macan S from last year) is telling me there is a $10K ADM they are requiring on 911s. I am looking to order a well-optioned base 911. My SA tries to take the sting away by saying that for the price you get ~5K of PPF/Paint Correction and Ceramic coat, and an extra year's worth of maintenance free (for a total of two years). I am unenthusiastic, as I a.) am uninclined to spend an additional $10K in order to make my dealer feel good, b.) prefer to pick my own PPF/Ceramic Coat source [who is likely not the lowest bidder!], vs. paying someone to dictate where and how I will get PPF and ceramic. I have brought up my objections, and got a polite brush off from my SA (which I largely expected). I'd really like to do business with the local dealer if possible, as I have had generally good experiences locally (really like the SA), and the next nearest dealer is 50+ miles away. It costs $0 to get on the allocation waiting list at my local dealer's.
On the other hand, if I work with the dealer that is 50-ish miles away, it's only $1,000 to get on the list for an allocation (credited towards the car cost later), and they are selling at MSRP. This dealer is a larger dealer than my local dealer, so I'm thinking they may get a larger number of allocations. Being in a rush to get the allocation and build date is NOT a priority for me (would like to ideally take delivery in mid- to late 2024).
I'm inclined to tell my local dealer that I am ready to pull the trigger later this week-- minus the $10K ADM...and if he won't work with me on it, thank him and take my business elsewhere. Thoughts?

It's a seller's market unfortunately.

One thing to keep in mind with prices is the effect of inflation. If you have 5% annual rate of inflation (which is about what we averaged for the past three years), a $200k car today inflates to a $210k car a year from now. That $10k isn't an increase in value when adjusted for inflation, it's what was needed to keep up with inflation.
You're forgetting that the MSRP of a 2022 vs 2023 GT3 increased by $8,600 which is 5.3%
