Apologies in advance for not being ideally suited for this thread. However, I hope my .2 brethren will embrace me with open arms as we bear a striking family resemblance.

I have an inbound Porsche, following European delivery, and the wait is killing me!! In addition, I'd love to tap the collective brain trust in this group as to how I can track The Blue Baron as it crosses the Atlantic.

By way of introduction, I purchased a 2016 GTS Targa in September 2015 but didn't take delivery until July 25th. The car was driven from Stuttgart to Milan, Monaco, Nice, Turin, Lake Lugano, Zurich and Singelfingen. (We bombed the Gottard pass not once but twice!) It was dropped off with Porsche's exporter this past Sunday. My wife and I did this all with a 4.5 month old in the rear seat Here's a photo of the car...

My sig below documents the build and our ED trip.

So...... how are you tracking the car's transatlantic journey?

hahaha I begged Porsche Exclusive for the aquatic option and painted calipers but they simply wouldn't budge.

Well I finally picked up my 991.2 on Monday and love it!! Trying to get my break in mileage done so i can have some fun with it. I will say it is so much more refined and better engineered then my Corvette Z06.

I'd also like to point out that i ordered the Grey tach and have experienced NO glare issues or difficulty seeing it, so maybe its not a problem on the 2017...

Oh, and for those people asking about the marker lights my dealer changed them in less then 5 minutes with no issues.

I'll be looking forward to your report. I'm 3 weeks behind you for my delivery at Atlanta PEC; on that slow boat to JAX right now.

How are you all tracking your cars while they cross the Atlantic?

I'm using Marine Traffic website. I signed up for a free trial, which lasts 30 days, but I'm not sure I even needed to do that to get what I needed.

Awesomeness. And how do you determine which boat the car is on TAL2GK?

I'm learning this on the fly, too. I was able to find a logistics list of scheduled transport ships assigned to the Volkswagen group. (I've attached that list to this post) I'm 90% sure I'm currently on the Garnet Leader, which left Emden a few days ago and is currently west of France and north of Spain.

Ideally there'd be a sticky on here about how to track your ship. There was on the BMW forums, which is where I learned a few tricks. Ultimately your salesperson should be able to tell you what ship you're on once it's underway ... I just haven't bugged mine to confirm my ride. I know I have a confirmed Atlanta PEC delivery date, so that's the biggest concern, but it is still a lot of fun to track your ship out of port and across the big blue.

Just emailed my SA. Thank you

The exporter in Singelfingen told me that the car would be going to Rhode Island. He offered Houston or Miami but I wanted to avoid the hurricane belt just to be safe.

After drop off, I called the dealer about once a week to see the progress of the car. It sat at port for nearly a month. Once the car was loaded onto a boat, I got an email from the Porsche European delivery department. The ship tracking websites will take over from there.
