Any GTS with 30K+ miles around $100K is no deal.
The GTS market has really tightened up lately with lots of high priced cars. Just looked at available ones, nothing looks appealing.
As we see, an occasional deal does pop up (and sells quick).
Cars.com only shows 25 991.1 GTS's for sale. 991.1 GT3's?? Over 100!! 991.1 GT3 RS's? 65!! Lots of HIGH priced cars collecting dust in the GT markets.
I think this Fall/Winter will bring more realistic deals for the cars we follow on HFS. Cars hitting the market should be more reasonably priced.

Not that I buy the latter. In any case I think naturally aspirated cars will look relatively better again when better emission testing comes along in the wake of the VW scandal. But that'll take years to take effect. For all we know it'll be all turbo appliance style cars or $160,000+ completely impractical cars pretty soon, with corrections coming too late.

As far as I can tell, there are about 6 C2 new 2017 under $100k. There is a seventh that is discounted but it may be used.
Problem with the new 911's is that to get any decent optioned ones they've gotten $$$$. You can spec out sub $125K ones. I think many dealers have gone bonkers with their builds.
I remember conversations with dealers in he past about 991.1's and they would rarely stock cars over $125K MSRP because they were hard to move.
Look here on cars.com
2017 S and 4S price break downs (# of cars on the right). Crazy how many high MSRP builds dealers are stocking which aren't moving.

Few points:
There is a nice market for the GT cars which they don't make enough of. Guys willing to spend $160K-$200K for that level of performance.
Nobody wants a $100K 718 4 cylinder in the USA.
There is a HUGE buyers pool in the $70K-$100K segment, but they want some REAL performance for their $$$. The new MB, BMW, Vette cars aren't doing it for them.
The pre-owned 991.1's have been a great bargain for what you're getting, hence the big appeal. How many ex-BMW guys have we had drift upward to Porsche over the past couple years here? ALOT!

Not to get too off topic here, but the desirability of 991.2's and 718's have fallen off in the USA at least. Maybe selling better elsewhere in the world where engine displacements are taxed highly. Porsche is going after growth markets which as you see aren't the USA. They are a global company.
We just get whatever they think they can sell in China and wherever. They think they can just use marketing to win us over in the USA. That's the reality.

How much is a sport design duck tail worth?
My buddy and track mate will be trading in his 2015 GTS for a 991.2 GT3. He's willing to sell me the car for whatever the dealer gives him on the trade plus the tax diff. The dealer is at around $100 on the car so that brings the car up to $108 ish.
The car has a good amount of track days. I don't like the duck tail so I'd sell that.

Used? Like $1K
You're going to have to spend more than that to convert to a standard spoiler, the harnesses, dealer programming, console button. Maybe a $2K project. That's with a used spoiler and motor.
Have never seen anyone go from a duck to a standard spoiler.
$108K for a GTS with a lot of track miles might be high depending on the overall miles. Plus all the hassle of the work.

Getting top dollar now. Far better than GTS. Future looks bright too. They have surprised me. Makes sense now in retrospect.
Have one with Pepita and a manual, and you're golden.

Another factor for 991.1 CPO vs 991.2 sales? The EPA?

I just hope this is not related to the turbo change and people not liking the 991.2 and 718. If so then the market for Porsche sports cars would erode further, and Porsche would shift more effort into 4-door cars for Asia. And of course it would be our (the consumers') fault for rejecting the perfectly "better" turbo cars, which supposedly have been mandated by emission madness.

That year over year sales number for 911's is - 12.5%
That's got to be very troubling to Porsche execs.
