HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991

Well after months of searching, I think I stumbled into the hot deal of the year....from Carmax! They listed a 2014 S yesterday without any pictures, but this thread was my leg up on the non-local competition knowing how to look up the build sheet with the VIN. I called the Cincy location and the sales guy snapped me some pictures and a walk-around video, bought it 15 minutes after it was listed. PowerKit!!! PDCC, PCCB, Aerokit, this one had it all except full leather and Burmester, but I can live without those. 1-owner car with clean title, no accident history, 9500 miles on it, 5-year MaxCare extended warranty (exclusionary) is only $2300. Now I just have to wait 2-3 weeks for it to get here!
You should check the PCM to see if you can find the previous owner - would love to hear what the story behind this was (unless carmax will share).

great deal!I was at carmax a week earlier valueing my trade in. Had that one popped up I would have been all over it! But I think where he got lucky is most of the options, like the power kit, aren't even factored in outside of a porsche dealership. Carmax was more interested in if I had power seats in my 12 than any performance options, and also my credit union on the new car were interested in the same type of options for value.

To give you some piece of mind, I bought my 2012.5 C2S (991) from CARMAX two years ago and it has been great! It was also two years old at the time and had only 7k miles on it. I had a PPI done by Porsche Arlington and it checked out fine. It still had two years left on the factory warranty so I opted not to get the CARMAX extended warranty (which they quoted me as $3600 for five years). I have had a couple of warranty repairs (the common COV issues plus an engine fan going out) but nothing crazy. No problems in the past year and a half at all.
Congrats!!!

2014 C2S manual with SC, SPASM, Bose, and 14 ways. Nice solid fun build with all the necessities. CPO too.

Did a school at the Porsche Experience Center this past Tuesday. Did the 2 vs 4 school. I would highly recommend this for people considering a car and what options they want.
This is Relevant to this thread in 2 ways. The PEC gets to order and spec the cars they get. I drove a C2S in lava with Spasm/exhaust and 18 way "plus" seats, Paddles, no sunroof. The C4S was luxo with full wood package, heated wood wheel, full leather, burmeister, painted sport techno's, painted sunroof in DBM. The paddles are SO much better. They seem to purposely get a smattering of options.
The cars are used there for 3 months, then serviced and internally auctioned to the dealers as CPO cars. I was one of the last days with NA cars as they switched over to all 991.2 today.
He said they have had no PDK failures in the year they have been open despite lots of launch control sessions. He mentioned 5 "incidents" but no injuries or airbag deployments.
Great thread!

^^ Jason, nice info! Me personally, no thanks on owning a car that was beat for 3 months. Anything that might have long term effects won't show up in 3 months. It will be someone's issue long after the CPO has expired. Even then, these cars are meant to be driven, so most should be fine. I just am a fan of proper break in's.
