In life, EVERYTHING is negotiable. Supply and demand determines how much. Find something inexpensive for them and high value for you - the win:win! Once you get to the end of the road with hard cash, just get them to throw something in. You should always get something with any deal in life!

I spent the weekend looking at 997.2 cars and debating with myself that I really could spend less and get a great car - true. However, I keep coming back here and cant change my mind that the sweet spot really is on the 991.1 right now with some incredible prices out there.
I really couldn't get the 997.2 equation to add up. Private sellers (997.2) are really in a tough spot as I looked at a few this weekend (all online) and they are just way way off the mark when compared to what we are seeing here. Even in Rennlist classified there are some hugely optimistic sellers.......

Spider, the sweet spot is the 991.1 vs. the 997 at the current time. I've been seeing a lot of overlap between the two with some unrealistic 997.2 prices.
That being said, 6 speed manual 997.2 GTS's and Turbos will be golden in the future. I believe their production numbers are also much lower than the 991's. Plus last manual in a Turbo and last of the NA 6 speeds (GTS). Nice examples with low miles will be nice to have in 10+yrs. Especially the Turbos.

Well after months of searching, I think I stumbled into the hot deal of the year....from Carmax! They listed a 2014 S yesterday without any pictures, but this thread was my leg up on the non-local competition knowing how to look up the build sheet with the VIN. I called the Cincy location and the sales guy snapped me some pictures and a walk-around video, bought it 15 minutes after it was listed. PowerKit!!! PDCC, PCCB, Aerokit, this one had it all except full leather and Burmester, but I can live without those. 1-owner car with clean title, no accident history, 9500 miles on it, 5-year MaxCare extended warranty (exclusionary) is only $2300. Now I just have to wait 2-3 weeks for it to get here!

I thought my '14 for 77.5K was a smoking deal, last December.

I suggest nobody size up their deals to dgoldenz's. It will only lead to disappointment and depression. It's a true outlier, and should not be used for comparison purposes!

I know this is the wrong model for this thread, but figured someone here might want to look into it.
A manual 2003 Turbo with 17k miles just popped up for $29.6k on cars dot com and it looks good in the photos. The VIN is WP0AB29923S685297 and it has a $151k MSRP.
It is a bit odd since the photos have Maine plates and the dealer (not exactly a Porsche specialist) is located in GA.
