A manual 2003 Turbo with 17k miles just popped up for $29.6k on cars dot com and it looks good in the photos. The VIN is WP0AB29923S685297 and it has a $151k MSRP.

It is a bit odd since the photos have Maine plates and the dealer (not exactly a Porsche specialist) is located in GA.

Scam maybe

Yes, wrong model and generation by a mile. We have enough work with the 991's as is. Let's keep the purity.

Go back almost 300+ pages on the app or 200+ on the desktop. 3K+ posts too ...

Please post links or dealers name. You should be able to copy/paste a link with the number of posts you have now. Hard to locate a car by VIN alone.

I was just busting your chops

The dealer is Porsche of Tysons Corner and here is a link for the car. My other posts with links were never showing up here, so I stopped adding them.

This seems too good to be true. It's worth some more research for sure though!

Google the VIN and you come up with a website offering it as a salvage car in June 2015.

A good point of reference for depreciation on your average 991. I got this chart from our buddy Tony77.

If you look a few pages back, you will see, that car spent some time as a submarine.

Its worth pointing out that after the first year, the depreciation percentages shown are based on the already depreciated value, not on the original value of the car, which makes them appear larger.

Example, in year 2, if basing the starting point as the original purchase price, the drop is "only" an additional 11%, not the 14% shown.

Just depends if you are looking at "additional depreciation from the last value point" or "additional depreciation from the starting point".

Figured it was worth mentioning for the non-numbers nerds.

Do you think the depreciation rate would be similar for a Turbo S?

My guess is that we will see bottom around year 10, staying steady for a while, and then start seeing some appreciation in my opinion.

Last of the NA 991.1's will be nice examples of a 911.
