Question: did I miss it or are there no base C2 '17-'19 Carrera's w SC included as part of this notice? Is this "just" cars with the NA 3.8 engine?
Only 991.1 with SC - both 3.4L and 3.8L NA motors

as a side note -
Very possible that SC Launch Control is part of the problem - wonder if a potential software fix will make the cars slower??

I have a 14 C4S Manual with SC. We don't have launch control.

my guess is that the popping and crackling under sport plus raises the emission to greater than acceptable level. If so, I would not care if the solution got rid of the "boy racer" noise.

Ha! You know there may be something to that....what causes the popping and cracking?

Dumping extra fuel into the cylinder for no reason other than to create popping and crackling.

This goofiness is associated with PSE, though, not Sport Chrono. You'll actually get less popping and crackling in Sport+ mode, or at least that's my own experience (981S).

So if that were the problem, PSE cars would be under scrutiny, not SC cars.

That's not a Sport Chrono issue. You get that in sport mode too, with PSE.

I have SC and not PSE and still a ton of pops and bangs.

I can still hear pops when PSE is off. Just muted. I would actually love to get rid of that. I prefer the PSE sound with the exception of the pops on decel.

Not a fan of the pops & crackles. Definitely glad my 992 doesn’t have that featured in sport+
