My new Carrera T
Excited for my new to me car. Can’t believe I snagged this one. 2018 Carrera T Miami Blue, only 2,300 miles from new, CPO, well sped’ed including rear wheel steering and most importantly, manual transmission. Delivery this week. I didn’t realize when I bought this how rare this car is. Only 308 T’s in 2018 and only 11 of those are Miami Blue w manual. Nice Xmas gift to myself.

Just did my annual oil change. Had HD Motorsports in Leander give it a once-over as well, as the 4 year expires on the 26th. They gave it perfect marks and said it was in outstanding shape. Holding alignment, n issues with the coolant system, suspension, brakes, etc. Really pleased with how bullet-proof and easy this experience has been from the factory. Hoping all of you other T Army folks are in the same boat.

Did you do the spark plugs and air filter as part of the 4 year service?

My T also has the Carrera T Interior Package in Racing Yellow, with manual transmission, and has just passed 43,000 miles! Glad to see that Ts are being used as intended!

Hello all,
Sorry to crowd your thread, but figured that this was probably the best place to ask my question and find a current T owner who might know the answer. I'm slowly entering the market for a 991.2 T. I have to sell my current 997.2 C2 first, but intend to buy something this spring. In my initial browsing I've noticed that a bunch of the cars that have the spec I'm looking for (manual, RWS, PCCBs, minimal luxury options) were also specced with the carbon buckets and rear seat delete. I have little kids who love riding in the back of my current Carrera, so rear seats are a must for me.
Here's my question: If I purchase a T with the rear seats deleted from the factory, is it possible to reinstall them post-purchase?
Seems it would be easy enough to fund the purchase of the necessary parts by selling the carbon buckets. However, I'm concerned that there may be actual differences in the body shell (e.g. lack of mounting points for seatbelts) between cars that came with rear seats and without. I've read that it is not possible to put rear seats into a GT3 because there are missing mounting points. Did Porsche similarly use different body shells for rear seat deleted Ts vs. rear seat included Ts?
Thanks in advance

@cgaites The answer is yes. All welded anchor and mounting points are there as they only made one version of the 991.2 narrow body chassis. With that said, there have been a few posts of the work involved and let's just say it's not as easy as one would think. Most of the difficulty comes in the form of difficult disassembly (i.e., tedious to prevent marring/damaging trim pieces) to get to all of the mounting and anchoring points. Then there's the cost of parts. Just think "Porsche Premium". Essentially, the parts are free when you buy the car with them, but when you buy all the parts separately? Well, you know...

Thanks all for the responses. Sounds like trying to “un-delete” the rear seats is not a great idea. I’ll keep my eyes open for the right spec, but with back seats.
I will say though, I’ve been a bit surprised by how many of the Ts for sale at any give time are PDKs with lots of luxury options. That’s not to belittle anyone’s choices. I guess I just though that these would have attracted a more price sensitive buyer (like myself) and the pool of Ts would skew more “manual and low option” as a result.
Thanks again

Kind of like the dealers who spec their Macan T inventory with $25-30k worth of options, which, to me, misses the point entirely of the T spec.

I’m guessing that some or many of the Carrera Ts may have been specc’d by dealers looking to maximize profit and/or meet the perceived needs of their customers.

I can understand dealers spec-up demo cars, to show off the cool options, but for retail it’s often not required.
