Thanks. That was my feeling too, based on this forum, but it’s based on educated guesswork as far as I can tell. It would be nice to know, one day, definitively, how rare our 991.2 Ts are.

Cheers,

Well reviews are out of the 992T. I think motortrend may have picked up on the summation between the 991.2T and the 992T but only a personal drive of the new platform will confirm:

There's also a sense, if you drove the last 911T, that Porsche has civilized this car a bit. It's not nearly as loud inside despite retaining the thinner rear glass and continuing to jettison significant sound-deadening material. The two-mode dampers allow you to opt out of full-time sports car ride quality. The two-mode exhaust lets you turn down the noise whenever you want. It's a more comfortable car to drive every day and less of a raw sports car.”

Here’s this one from Jalopnik:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/jalopni...1849814795/amp

I especially liked the part where it says “For 2023, the 992 Carrera T follows the same formula as the previous version but takes everything up a notch into 911 nirvana.”
… and then proceeds to list the exact same specs as the 991.2 T bar the carbon roof and PTS.

I have also been stalking all of the feeds... Interested to see some real comparisons between the cars and not just opinions. One thing I was trying to figure out, does anyone know if they also put static mounts vice PADM in the 992? I know we went round and round for a bit about this a couple years back. I really think that will change the way the car feels/handles as well. I had PADM on my Cayman, and loved it, until it started to fault out on me. Totally happy with the static mounts on our Ts.

Personally I’m loving the weight comparison of losing +100lbs off the base 992 when about 50% of the weight savings are because it’s a manual transmission vs PDK only in the base,
essentially the same weight saving on a heavier car. I’m looking forward to Farah’s review next week.

I thought I read somewhere they were PADM, but at this point there are so many articles I’m not sure if any of them have the actual specs

Happy Thanksgiving T army.

I was bummed about the 992T not including this little detail.

I think that this omission makes the new 992 T virtually undriveable and a mere shadow of the legendary 991.2 Carrera T.

For me, I enjoy the analog gauge cluster, cup holders that don’t get in the way of the shifter and the door pulls! The 992’s are fun to drive, but I still love the 991’s layout.

For a few reasons, I may let my 992T allocation go! Doesn’t seem worth it, coming from my 991.2T

aargh …. wish someone would compare weights savings of a 991.2 Carrera T vs a similarly equipped Carrera S…. Think that’s where the real story is - less HP but even less weight.
