Nice. My exact spec but with the buckets. Sometimes I wish I had the sport seats other days I love the buckets. Always love the drive though. Enjoy!

Enjoy, OG T Army!

I think for 992 - the GTS is the special Carrera model as it gets the most unique “sports” options not available on other variants and it now has a Lightweight package.

I think going from 991.2 T to 992.1 T is a very lateral trade without much improvement unless you have high mileage car or have some other issue. So for me a GTS or GT3 would be the next step.

I think 991.2 version was just a more special and unique version with CCB, lightweight glass, buckets etc. For 992, these features are available in other variants.

Agreed. Spec-wise, there is very little improvement to be had, if not stepping back a bit. I think the PTS is cool for sure. But other than that, there is nothing else I am jealous of at this point. Now, if they actually confirm that they moved the engine mounts forward, I am all in.

I am no where near objective, but I really feel we got a sweeter deal and our cars are just a little bit more special for it. Time will tell...

In brief:
  1. bigger and heavier
  2. more expensive
  3. more ways to spend more money
Porsche is getting dangerously close to pissing off its core customer.

Congrats. Hopefully a similar one will be in my garage very soon. I also have a deposit on a 992T and hope I can close the deal on the 991 so I can take a pass on the 992.

Default Getting a CPO

I’m looking at buying 911T that has a year left on the factory warranty, but I want to get a CPO. Does anyone know if it’s possible to get a CPO from Porsche and what the process and cost is? Or what third party options there are. And cost?

@rmaz You would need to buy the car from Porsche to get the CPO (assuming the car doesn't already have it). This sounds bad as I type it... you might be able to find a dealer to facilitate the purchase and include a CPO in the deal, but they'd probably want a fair cut of the deal plus the cost of the CPO to make it happen. I don't recall ever hearing about a CPO being offered as a stand-alone purchase.

I am curious as to why they didn’t make the same adjustment to the final drive ratio on the 992 T as was done for the 991 Carrera T? I like the shorter rear end. I bet it helps a ton getting more out of the power plant.

Do we think that the new 3.0T at 379hp is so vastly underrated (likely) that Porsche didn’t see the need to add this hot rod trick to the 992 T?

I'd suggest posting in the Marketplace for additional attention.

I could be wrong but Porsche used the 991.2S final drive ratio (shorter drive ratio) in the 991.2T and not the base 991.2 MT with the longer ratio. In the 992T since they didn’t have a MT option in the base they did the same thing and used the 992S ratio. They just can’t advertise a shorter drive ratio because they don’t offer the longer ratio base MT anymore. Confusing yes but “same recipe” according to Porsche.

Now that my new to me T is safely parked in the garage, I would like to report as a new group member located in NJ!
Car is CWM and is specced with MT, LWBS, RAS, CCB, Black PDLS, and a bunch of other little touches.

I have only driven this beast a few miles so far, and I can’t wait for the sunny days to come back to be able to enjoy this to the full extent!

Last but not least, I would like to acknowledge the Forum member from whom I acquired the car: I only have kind and amazing things to say about him and whenever I thought I was already quite peculiar about maintaining and cleaning my cars, he has shown me a whole other universe all together… and all with an infinite passion for driving this car the way it was meant!! A huge thank you to him for introducing me to the Porsche world in such manner!!!

We’ll see (how much value our T’s are): https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...1-carrera-t-6/

Pretty much my spec, and mileage, except this car has PCCB.
