Well some of our feelings are the standard “the last generation, which I happen to own, is the last good Porsche ever made” but a lot of it is definitely founded. The 992T is going to be a great car just like the 991, 997, and yes even the 996. Would I love to have a 992T…yup. Would I trade May 991.2T for one, NO WAY IN HELL! The 992T is an artificially demanded trim level created by Porsche by not offering a MT in the base Carrera. The 991.2T, on the hand, was built because enthusiast were clamoring for a model that was a lightweight model with all the performance goodies without the crazy GT monicker. Just a back to basics 911. Magically the 991.2T was born…and no one bought it. The hype began after production ended on it and then all of a sudden people realized…dang that was the perfect car. Then cashing in on this the 992T was developed. The 991.2T was purposefully built with things to make it better, more raw, and actually slot it between the base and S. The 992T has applied the “same recipe” without the in depth development and the only way to get the base engine with a MT. Example, no door pulls, why not…because you’re everyday buyers are no longer the the enthusiast/minimalist they are now anyone who prefers a MT with the base 911.
It was all the little things that make the original, well original and unique, designed and developed for the 991.2T. My hypothetical question is would there be the same or more demand for the the 992T if the base 992 had offered a MT on its own?

You know what sucks? Those who spec'd proper 991.2 Ts won't. be trading them in for the 992 T which means I'm SOL in trying to find my dead man's 911. Seriously, I want a proper 991.2 T more than a GT3.

Different folks will have different ideas of their own “proper” 991.2 T.

Was considering moving to the 992 T, but tbh am happy with the 991.2 T. The narrow body is very appealing
Essentially the same engine and lighter weight adds to the appeal of the 991.2.

Thank you. I'm in Mexico. Less Porsches per capita here. I'm in no rush and I'm really not keen on the 992 but it feels like not ordering one, which will likely take forever to get, is just wasting time on a pipe dream.
Thank you. Aside from the perfect-for-me car which was sold from under me, everything else I've seen since I started looking is PDK, rear seats, sofas and sunroof. Those are non-starters for me. I just don't understand people who spe'd those cars. I guess they liked the stickers? But yeah, kinda. My dream car was manual, rear seat delete, no roof, buckets, no PCCB (plan to track), no RAS (engagement over speed), sport design and full leather. The only thing I would've ordered differently is the stitching in silver as opposed to yellow.
Don't. It's not the same philosophy. It seems like the 992 became what people thought the 991 was when it came out: a parts bin special. They could've done so much better. And just the fact that it's a 992 with that interior, that huge butt and the extra weight... keep the 991.

My dream 911 is a 2.7 RS but since they are unattainable my relatively light weight, modified, loud, raw, stripper 'T' is perfect for me. No desire to trade in for a 992 T or any other 992 model.

It does many things very well. You can tour them, track them and daily them. On top of that they are very rare and IMO, the 991.2 will eventaully become a classic due to it being the last narrow body and low production numbers.

I know this has been asked before, but is anyone any nearer to discovering the total number of 991.2 Ts that Porsche built (worldwide figure, not just North America)?

Thanks. Folks have previously posted that North America usually get around one third of worldwide production, but the feeling was with the T that maybe N America got about 50% of worldwide production. I don’t know why Porsche are so shy of sharing the numbers...?

The trick to getting the ultimate Carrera T? NO options other than a manual. Least expensive , lightest , most fun! The money you save can go towards some modest performance upgrades with out voiding the factory warranty. Just my 02
