It's easy to connect the camera if you have one already installed.. you just connect the camera power cable to one that is marked on the loom that cones with the new head unit and that's it. It should earth through the existing connection you have.

Yes - just use T-Taps (or similar) to connect the red, yellow and black wires to wires of the corresponding colour on the harness.

SECRET BUTTON CONTROL - ERISIN-STYLE UNITS!

While carrying out a controlled scientific experiment (AKA prodding the wrong button), I have discovered an undocumented feature.

If you hold down the heated rear screen button for a second or two the display switches to the rear camera view, even while driving. This can sometimes be useful.

This works on our Cayman and may well work on other Porsche models too. Give it a try!

I assume I will have to tap into the reverse wire on the ISO connector, is that what you did?

I assume the same thing for my MOST box which needs BATT+, ACC and GND.
Please keep us updated! I am very curious about the wiring and car integration.

Will do. I am in the states and based on the time it took to get the Ersin HU from Aliexpress I don't expect to get the Chstek HU for 2-3 of weeks. As soon as it arrives I will jump on it. Since it is just replacing the HU and knowing how straightforward it was wiring in the Ersin HU I am not expecting it to take long time, we shall see. Honestly my biggest issue the first time was running the wiring for the BU camera and of course forgetting to wire power to the MOST box, doh!

I did message the seller and asked them to make sure the CHSTEK HU had the latest canbus software that addresses the dashboard dimming issue. We will see if that happens.

I'm not sure that CHSTEK really understood the issue when I was chatting with them TBH. Regardless, it's a simple fix to apply once you receive your unit i.e. the "Erisin fix" is confirmed to work on the CHSTEK.

The Erisin Unit seems to use our Quadlock to install the CHSTEK, at least from photos has different wiring harness

Also does anyone know if the CHstek unit preserves turning backup camera lines and Parking Distance sensors?

CHSTEK also uses Quadlock - photos don’t show this.

Thanks for the reply I am excited to install mine and getting rid of all the adapters and external boxes to make our PCM’s work with CarPlay!

Guys - the CHSTEK unit isn't the same as this Owtowsin unit here, is it:

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...l#post19413633

That unit is more or less as deep as the PCM, so that's an easy way to tell. I can't find any pics showing the depth on the website

@ratt359 - is your CHSTEK unit the same depth as the Erisin?

Has anyone got shipping confirmatin of their CHSTEK order yet? I ordered mine on 1st May, it took a day or two for them to ask the question if I needed the Most adapter or not and I have had no update since - the order is still marked as "To ship"

It's the Chinese Labour Day holiday from May 1st to May 5th, so the majority of Chinese workers will be away from work. Usually with these Chinese Holidays the disruption can spread a day or two either side of the official dates, as things get back to normal. The worst one for this is the Chinese New Year which can disrupt services for two weeks (but that was February 10th - 17th this year and had gone).

Things should get back to normal early next week.
